Instructions for Use
EN
Drainable pouch with total skin protector for post-operative
stoma and for the wound drainage and the fistula movement.
A
PREPARATION OF THE SKIN
1 -
Carefully wash your hands. Aseptic technique is
recommended.
2 -
Make sure that the cap is securely closed.
3 -
We recommend to use warm water and mild soap only
to wash the patient's skin. Rinse and dry carefully. The
use of disinfectant (ether, alcohol or other antiseptic...)
2
can prevent the proper adhesion of the pouch.
B
FITTING THE APPLIANCE
1 -
Evaluate the size of the wound or the stoma. Draw the
outline on the release paper of the skin protector.
2 -
Before cutting the skin protector, separate both plastic
films of the pouch to avoid any hole in the external face
of the pouch.
For the Draina S® Vision range, open the window in order
not to perforate it and close it back once the cut is made.
3 -
Remove the release paper from the skin protector.
4 -
Apply the skin protector from the bottom to the top,
smooth the entire surface to ensure secure adhesion.
The Draina S® pouches can be used in two ways:
With the tube (and cap) to collect waste and liquids to drain
the waste into another collection system.
With a standard clamp (after cutting the tubing), to collect
thicker effluents.
CAUTION: before applying the pouch onto the skin, make sure
that the outlet (clamp or tab) is securely closed (see pictures
1 & 2).

C
REMOVING THE APPLIANCE
Carefully peel back the skin protector. Diagonally peel the
pouch from the top to the bottom (whilst holding the skin
with your other hand).
HANDLING OF THE OUTLET OF THE DRAINA S® RANGE
To secure the closing of the tab (or its connection to a collector),
make the ring slide to block the tab or the tubing
(see picture 2) .
HANDLING OF THE WINDOW OF THE DRAINA S® VISION
RANGE
OPENING
With the diameters 50 and 75, start by lifting the lever to
free the window (there is no lever on the diameter 100). Then
open the window with one hand holding the tab situated on
the ring of the pouch and with the other hand, the window
itself. The window gets opened without pulling onto the
patient's skin (see picture 3).
CLOSING
1 -
Fit the window plastic ring together with the pouch plastic
ring, starting at the bottom (see picture 4).
2 -
Then push slightly on each side towards the tab until the
complete closing of the window (see picture 5).
3 -
For the 50 and 75 mm diameter, secure by lowering the
lever.
