Flying or stacking KARA
The KARA fully integrated four-point rigging system (Figure 3) with inter-enclosure angular adjustment from 0° to 10°
allows the following vertical array setups:
• Flying up to 24 KARA or 4 SB18/12 KARA under the M-BUMP/M-BAR rigging structure.
• Stacking up to 9 KARA or 2 SB18/6 KARA onto the M-BUMP/M-BAR/M-JACK platform.
• Stacking up to 4 SB18/9 KARA by putting SB18 directly on the ground (for perfectly horizontal and regular
surfaces ONLY) and KARA onto the M-BUMP rigging structure.
• Flying up to 6 KARA or 2 SB18/6 KARA using the KARA-MINIBU/ KARA-MINIBUEX rigging structure.
• Stacking up to 6 KARA onto the KARA-MINIBU/KARA-MINIBUEX rigging structure.
• Stacking up to 4 SB18/6 KARA by putting SB18 directly on the ground (for perfectly horizontal and regular
surfaces ONLY) and KARA onto the KARA-MINIBU/KARA-MINIBUEX rigging structure.
Note 1: Flying a SB18/KARA mixed array requires the use of a second M-BUMP or KARA-MINIBU/KARA-
MINIBUEX structure to link SB18 and KARA. The same applies for an M-BUMP platform stacked mixed array.
Note 2: The KARA-PULLBACK rigging accessory can eventually be added in M-BUMP flown arrays to obtain a
pullback configuration.
Note 3: The KARA-ANGARMEX accessory can also be added in stacked KARA or SB18/KARA arrays for an extra
10° downwards site angle of the bottom KARA.
Refer to the KARA Rigging procedures pack [3.4] for KARA system specific rigging procedures and
mechanical limits.

Connecting KARA
The KARA enclosure is driven and powered by the dedicated L-ACOUSTICS
LA8 amp channel pairs 1/2 and 3/4 can drive up to three KARA enclosures in parallel. For more details please refer to
the LA8 User manual [3.4].
The KARA enclosure is equipped with two 4-point SpeakON
another KARA enclosure in parallel using the L-ACOUSTICS
It is recommended to use the L-ACOUSTICS
amplified controller. This cable must be extended by one of the L-ACOUSTICS
2 and Figure 4).
A maximum of three KARA enclosures can be connected to each of the LA8 1/2 and 3/4 output
channel pairs.
ALWAYS connect the new DOFILL-LA8 cable on the LA8 amplified controller for active 2-way
applications, as using the old DOFILL cable may result in damaging the transducers (refer to the LA8
CAUTION
CACOM CABLES Technical bulletin [3.4]).
