Working with the telescopic handle
Always apply the carrying strap (19) when working
with this machine. A proper control of this machine
will only be possible if you use the carrying strap.
Place the belt over the shoulder and adjust the belt
length so that the belt attachment (13) is positioned at hip
level.
 The quick acting closure (b) is located above the carrying
strap fastener.
The quick acting closure can be opened with one hand.
Immediately replace a damaged carrying strap
Working with the hedge trimmer
Hold the hedge trimmer with both hands on a safe
distance from the body.
The extension cable must be kept behind the hedge
trimmer when cutting so that it cannot be caught by the
knives.
Due to its double sided knives the hedge trimmer can
be guided forward and backward or by oscillating
movements from one to another side?
At first cut the sides of the hedge
and then the upper edge.
 Cut the hedge from the bottom up.
 Cut the hedge in trapezium shape.
 Stretch a guide over the complete length of the hedge when
you want to shorten the upper edge of the hedge evenly.
 The maximal diameter to cut depends on the wood's type,
age, moisture and hardness.
Therefore cut very thick branches using branch shears
to your desired length before trimming the hedge.
 Trim in several passes if you have to cut down a large
portion of the hedge.
Using the telescopic handle
Use the telescopic handle to trim high and wide hedges as well
as ground-cover plants. (See chapter "Assembly", section
"Telescopic handle".)
High hedges:
Turn the cutting head to your desired position and hold the
hedge trimmer in vertical position.
Have breaks when working above your head to
prevent bodily fatigue.
Wide hedges:
Turn the cutting head to a working range from 0 to 10
degrees and guide the hedge trimmer horizontally in a
pendular movement to the hedge edge.
Ground-cover plants (working near the ground)
Turn the cutting head to the 0 degree position.
22
Always use the telescopic handle for trimming
ground-cover plants.
