Music search
Operation
You can use the music search to find music
tracks from all available internal media.
You can also search for music tracks available
via Media Interface.
In order to enable a music search in the

available internal media, the media player
(e.g. CD player) must be switched on.
In order to enable a music search via the
Media Interface, the external media player
(e.g. iPod ® ) must be switched on.
In addition, the available music data must
have already been searched for by the sys-
tem. This triggers additional data process-
ing for the Voice Control System. This can
take some time, depending on the amount
of data.
The following internal media are included in
the music search:
Disc mode (CD/MP3)

Memory card

MUSIC REGISTER

USB storage device

In a Media Interface music search, only the
data on the external media player is included.
With the Voice Control System, you can
search the internal media according to the
following criteria:

In a free music search, you can also combine
several search criteria (

search read out.

Using the "Search for music" command, you
can start the music search.

To activate a music search: switch on the
desired media player (e.g. CD player).
Press the ? button on the multifunction
steering wheel.
Say the command "Search for music".
Press the ? button on the multifunction
steering wheel.

Commands
When you activate the music search for
the first time, all available media are initially
searched for information. The information
is then prepared for the Voice Control Sys-
tem. The Voice Control System says,
"Compiling music search data".
Music search is only available once the
data has been compiled.
