2) PREPARATION WORK ON VEHICLE BODY, CHASSIS,
AND HTL
•
Position the vehicle over a workshop pit, or lift it up by
means of a workshop lifting bridge or hydraulic jacks.
Make sure that you have sufficient access to the under-
side of the vehicle, so that the fitting work can be per-
formed in a relaxed and safe manner. [See Fig. 2.1]
•
Verify the FITTING DRAWING, and determine
the scope of the work required to prepare and
adapt the vehicle chassis to the HTL fitting.
[See Fig. 2.1]
M
•
Remove all objects (spare wheel carrier, parts of the ex-
haust pipe, access step integrated in the rear bumper,...)
that are not compatible with the HTL. Consult with the
vehicle manufacturer for replacement solutions (e.g. ex-
haust pipe modifications, more suitable type of bumper
profiles...). [See Fig. 2.2]
E
•
Remove the battery clips from the batteries, If the vehicle
is equipped with an ABS system, or other electronic de-
vices, loosen the corresponding plugs in the vehicle cabin.
G
•
Use the FITTING DRAWING for all further ref-
erence. The fitting drawing contains useful in-
formation with regards to the position of the
HTL under the vehicle chassis, the fitting
height, the fixation of the mounting plates, the
position of the platform, and required modifica-
tions to the chassis or body.
