Safety devices
Install the following devices:
- Emergency circuit breaker or cutoff switch, located outside the room near the access door, to cut off
electrical power to the entire room;
- Fire extinguisher placed near the emergency circuit breaker for first response intervention. It should be
appropriate for use with powered equipment and have the capacity required for the systems located inside
the room;
- Refrigerant gas leak detection system able to activate an optical or acoustic alarm signal;
- Noise protection ear coverings for entering the room while the unit is operating;
- Warning signs on the access door that indicate the type and total quantity of refrigerant.
Positioning
- Place the unit in its final installation location, in order to avoid movements that stress the structure.
- The surface where it rests must be stable, level, and able to support the weight of the unit.
- Make sure the unit is horizontally level, and if necessary correct any imperfection using the anti-vibration
feet.
ATTENTION!: While positioning the unit, be careful to not pull on the connecting cables.
Note:All these operations should be performed by specialized technical personnel only.
Note:Refer to the norms in effect for the country in which the unit is being installed.

13.Electrical connection

Electrical connections must be carried out in accordance with the diagrams provided with the unit.
Any changes to the diagrams must be authorized by the manufacturer.
- The system should be protected upstream using an automatic magnetothermal omnipolar cutoff switch with
appropriate characteristics and that also serves as the general circuit breaker for the line.
- Inform operators of the switch location so that it can be reached quickly in the case of an EMERGENCY.
- The electrical system must be grounded using the terminal located on the side of the circuit breaker
and marked with:
- First of all, make sure that the power supply voltage is that indicated on the rating plate (Fig. 2)
- Check that the power supply line has cables with the cross section recommended by the manufacturer, and
are protected against power surges and have a grounding system that conforms to the laws in effect.
- For power supply lines longer than 4-5 m, increase the cable cross section correspondingly.
- The installer should provide anchoring devices for all cables entering and leaving the unit.
- Respect the wire colors and the phase order.
The automatic magnetothermal switch should be designed so as to not open the neutral circuit
without simultaneously opening on the phases. In any case, the the opening distance for the
contacts must be at least 3mm.
Pay attention to the cutoff value of the differential so as to guarantee selectivity.
Note:All these operations should be performed by specialized technical personnel only.

14.Hydraulic connections (Fig. 6)

The unit is provided with outgoing tubes.
- After having positioned the unit, set up the connections for the machine circuits using tubing that is
appropriate for the connected refrigerating power.
- The unit connectors are provided with copper tubing in appropriate dimensions, closed by a braze welded
plug. Remove the plug and connect the system line to the unit using bell-mouth braze welding.
- Insert anti-vibration joints and interception valves of appropriate dimensions between the unit and the
system tubing.
- Weld the tubes very carefully.
- Before filling the circuit with the refrigerant, carefully clean the internal parts and test the pressure in the
lines.
- Place the system under pressure using nitrogen, so as to check the seal.
- Each unit is inspected before deliver at a pressure of 7.5 and 11 bar.
Note:All these operations should be performed by specialized technical personnel only.
