wood, minerals and metals may be
hazardous to health. Touching or
inhaling this dust can provoke
allergic reactions and/or cause
respiratory illnesses affecting the
user, or persons in the nearby area.
Certain dust types, such as oak or
beech dust, can be carcinogenic,
especially in conjunction with wood
treatment additives (chromate,
wood preservatives).
– Always use dust extraction
equipment.
– Use a special vacuum when
vacuuming up dust which is
particularly hazardous to health,
carcinogenic or dry.
– Keep the work area well
ventilated.
– Wear a dust mask with filter
class P2 when working in areas
where dust is created. If the
multi-function tool is fitted with a
dust extraction attachment
and/or dust container equipment,
connect the dust extraction
equipment.
– Observe any national regulations
that may apply to the materials
to be processed.
– Be particularly careful when
disposing of dust, as several
materials in dust or powder form
can be explosive. Do not dispose
of sanding dust in a fire. Mixtures
of dust particles and oil or water
can ignite over time.
Fire safety measures
– Keep a fire extinguisher handy.
For wood and paper fires:
Powder extinguisher (fire class
ABC), or foam extinguisher (fire
class AB).
For electrical fires: Carbon
dioxide (CO
) extinguisher (fire
2
class B).
Safety measures for persons with
medical implants
All electrical tools generate an
electromagnetic field during operation,
which may affect the function of
medical implants (e.g. pacemakers) in
unfavourable conditions.
Before working with the electrical
tool:
– Consult a doctor.
– Consult the manufacturer of your
implant.
