Indicator lights on the self-diagnosis
module (fig.4)
The self-diagnosis module has two indicator
lights on the sides of the "diagnosis" connector,
and these are highly useful for understanding
the working status of the module.
Green LED indicating activity (1).
This LED indicates that the working status of the
self-diagnosis module:
• Flashing LED: the self-diagnosis module is
powered and is working correctly.
• Fixed LED light: the self-diagnosis module is
powered, but is not working correctly.
In the latter case, you are advised to switch off the
power supply to the module, wait a few seconds
and then repower the module.
Three-colour LED indicating communication
with the vehicle electronics (2).
The colour of this LED indicates the status of
communication between the car system and the
self-diagnosis module:
• orange LED: the self-diagnosis module is trying
to establish a communication with the vehicle
electronics; this condition normally arises when
the communication with the vehicle electronics
is started up.
• green LED: the self-diagnosis module is
communicating with the vehicle electronics and
is updating the parameters requested by the
software.
• red LED: the LED is red when the self-diagnosis
module is waiting for commands from the PC,
or when the communication between the self-
diagnosis module and the vehicle electronics is
in a condition of time-out.
