4.5 Switch off

Simply release the engine brake lever (Fig.1_G) to stop the
engine of any model.
Caution!
Always remember that the blade continues to rotate for a
few seconds, even after the engine has stopped. Wait
until the blade has come to a complete standstill before
performing any operation.

4.6 Storage

Storage is also an important part of keeping your Grin in the
best possible condition.

4.6.1 Temporary storage

Up to 4 weeks is considered as temporary storage.
-
For combustion engine models (HM/PM/SPM), the fuel can
be left in the tank.
-
Let the engine cool down outdoors before storing the Grin.
-
Clean the equipment before putting it away to prevent
caking of grass residue, which is pesky to remove.
-
Shelter the lawn mower.
Note:
Store the batteries as indicated in the specific
battery manual (BM46-36V, "GL-3609 User manual") or in
the engine's manual (BM46-82V and Instart models).
Caution!
Do not store the lawn mower in sunlight or at home because
petrol vapours may leak out.

4.6.2 Long-term storage

For long periods, for example during the winter.
-
For combustion engine models (HM/PM/SPM), completely
empty the fuel tank outdoors and store the petrol in a
suitable container.
Follow the maintenance instructions below and in the
-
engine's user manual:
I. Unscrew the spark plug (Fig.1_T).
II. Spray anti-rust protection or anti-rust lubricant into the
cylinder: pull the starter halfway out to move the piston
and uniformly distribute the protection.
III. Screw the spark plug back in.
IV. Lubricate the worn metal parts with a thin layer of grease
or treat them with protective oil.
V. Lightly grease the blade.
VI. Shelter the lawn mower from humidity and cover it to
protect it from dust.
For the BM and EM models, follow the above operations from
point IV.
Note:
To correctly store the batteries, carefully read the
information provided in the specific battery manual (BM46-
36V, "GL-3609 User manual") or in the engine's manual
(BM46-82V and Instart models).

4.6.3 Disposal

Observe the environmental requirements, rules and
regulations on waste disposal and recycling.
Plastic: Separate based on recycling processes.
Metal: Scrap metal.
Electrical cables: Electrical scrap or non-ferrous scrap metal.
Used oil: Deliver to the petrol stations.
Caution!
Pay attention when disposing of batteries:
-
Never set fire or incinerate used or discarded batteries as
they could explode. Burning batteries releases toxic
materials and fumes.
It is likely that there is a small residual electrical charge in used
or discarded batteries, so they should be handled with caution.
Dispose of batteries in compliance with federal, state and local
laws.
Note:
To correctly dispose of the batteries, carefully read
the information given in the specific battery manual (BM46-
36V, "GL-3609 User manual") or in the engine's manual
(BM46-82V and Instart models).
