8. Start Preparations

a) Inserting the Batteries in the Transmitter
Remove the two battery compartment lids (1) on the back of the transmitter. For this, you need to release the two
screws (2) push the lids back and lift them.
Insert four micro/AAA size batteries with the correct polarity. Observe the corresponding icons in the battery compart-
ments (3). Insert the two battery casing lids and screw them back on.
Operation of the transmitter with batteries is not recommended because of the lower cell voltage (battery
= 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V) and the self-discharge of rechargeable batteries. Quick feedback of
the transmitter on low charge status of the transmitter power supply would result.
Since the transmitter needs very little power and a higher voltage level is beneficial for charging the quad-
rocopter (longer flight duration), we recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries.
