7.1 Part arming
The system can be planned so that:
1. all detectors are activated when the system is armed or
2. that some of the detectors are set so that they are activated when the
system is fully armed, but not when the system is part armed
The part arm function is recommended when monitoring is required for an
occupied dwelling. In this case the PIR detectors must be set in Home mode.
When the dwelling is occupied, the system should be part armed (the the
detectors set in Home mode are not active). When the dwelling is
unoccupied, fully arm the system (all detectors are active).
7.2 Entry/Exit delay
In order to arm the system from within the dwelling before leaving, or to
disarm the system after entering, without causing an immediate alarm, set
the detectors which monitor the entrance/exit area to delay. If these
detectors make a detection when the system is armed, they will trigger an
entrance delay (15 or 30 seconds selectable) before causing alarm. The
delay period is indicated by beeping of the siren. All detectors will not signal
an alarm during the delay period.
The delay period can be set on the siren for 0, 15 or 30 seconds. If 0 seconds
is selected the detectors set for delay, will cause immediate alarm.
Tip:
To redue false alarms, it is recommended to set the detectors in the
entrance/exit area to delay, even if it intended to arm and disarm the system
from outside the dwelling.
7.3. Immediate alarm
All detectors which are set for "immediate" alarm will cause an immediate
alarm when the system is armed or part armed.

8. Positioning of the components
Before installing the components plan the system and test the wireless
connection from the proposed positions.
Consider the following:
! The range of each component depends on many factors.
! Walls, floors, doors, metal areas eg. refigerators, shelving, mirrors or
volume of water block the wireless signals.
! The wireless range can be influenced by electromagnetic fields and other
wireless devices. Ensure separation from microwave ovens, cordless

phones, WiFi, mobile phones, wireless devices, electric motors and
wiring.
! Ensure a minimum distance of 2 m between the components - also
whilst testing.
! Place the components so that they are not immediately visible to the
intruder.
8.1 Siren 3000IS2
! Position the siren near the middle of the dwelling to optimise the
wireless connection to all components.
! Place it in a suitable mains socket.
! Mount the siren after all components have been successfully enrolled.
8.2. PIR-detector 3000P/3000P2
! The PIR-detector should be wall mounted using the bracket.
! Position the PIR-detector to monitor an area which is likely to be crossed
by an intruder, eg. hallway.
! The sensor reacts to changes in temperature, eg. movement of persons,
within the monitored area (up to 8m over 110° (see Fig. I) using the
ideal mounting height 2.2m).
! Do not cover the lens of the detector, otherwise the sensor cannot detect!
! As the sensor reacts to temperature changes, ensure that there are no
heat sources in the monitored area, eg. radiators, lamps, air
conditioning, ventilators, windows, cooking appliances, draughts.
! The detector should look into the room, and not be aimed at windows
(see Fig. F).
! Pets can also trigger an alarm, ensure that these cannot enter the
monitored area when the system is armed. If this is not possible, use the
motion detector 3000P2 for areas which are entered by animals when
the system is armed, as this motion detector does not react to animals
with a weight of up to 25 kg. If you use the motion detector 3000P,
install the detector upside down so that the floor area is not monitored.
In this case test that an intruder will still be detected.
! How quickly the detector reacts is also dependent on the ambient
teperature. In a colder environment it reacts quicker.
! Motion across the monitored area is detected much quicker than motion
directly towards the detector. Position the detector so that an intruder
will move accross the area (see Fig. D).
8.3 Door/window contact 3000M (see Fig. G, H)
! Place the sensor on the window or door.
! Place the magnet on the frame of the opening side of the door or window
directly adjacent to the sensor. The arrow marks must be opposite each
other and the distance between separating distance in closed condition
should not exceed 10 mm (see Fig. E).
