6. Safety instructions
The following instructions are provided for your safety and satisfaction during
operation of the product. Note that non-observance of these safety
instructions results in significant risks of accident.
Danger! If this point is not heeded, life and health are endangered.
! Do not leave small children unsupervised with the product, packaging
material or small parts. Otherwise there is a risk of fatal injury due to
choking!
! Ensure that the alarm siren is not activated when persons are close to the
siren. Wear ear protection when testing the unit, otherwise there is a
danger of hearing damage.
! Do not damage any gas, electricity, water or telecommunication lines
during drilling and fixing work. Otherwise there are dangers of personal
and fatal injury!
! Before connecting the siren to the mains, ensure that the mains current
complies with 230 V ~, 50 Hz and is fitted with a fuse according to
regulations. Otherwise there are dangers of fire and fatal injury.
! Do not allow the siren to contact with moisture. Never immerse the
product in water. Otherwise there is danger of fatal injury!
! Ensure that the batteries are not short circuited or exposed to fire. The
batteries must not be opened or recharged. Otherwise there is a risk of
fatal injury due to explosion!
! Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns by contact with skin.
Handle these using suitable protective gloves.
Attention! Non-observance of these instructions puts property at risk
of damage.
! Before installing and operating the product check the package for
damages and completeness.
! Do not connect any damaged device (e.g. transport damage) and
disconnect the power supply immediately in the case of damage.
! Unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket. Arrange for the
damage to be repaired immediately by a specialist!
! Use the product only with the original components or original
accessories!
! Use only the recommended battery types.
! Do not expose the product to fire or high temperature!
! Protect the product against strong magnetic or electrical fields and
against strong mechanical loads and vibrations!
! Insert the batteries with the correct polarity.
! If the unit is to be unused for a longer period disconnect the siren from
the mains supply and remove the batteries.
7. Planning the system
Consider first which are the vulnerable areas to be monitored. Windows and
doors can be monitored using the door/window contact, in particular the
main entrance door should be monitored.
PIR detectors can monitor entire rooms, but cannot be used when the room is
occupied. They are also sensitive to pets and warm air currents. A typical
system consists of a mixture of door/window contacts and PIR-detectors
