Behaviour after power cut

After interruptions such as power failures or deliberate disconnection (e.g. timer) of the AC
outlet, the magnetic stirrer remains in stand-by-mode (no heating, no stirring). This
function is in operation when lower right of display shows "o".
Note:
The MR Hei-End can be reprogrammed via RS232 interface (see
chapter 12.1.1) so that after a power cut it will return to operation
(heating and stirring on). This function is in operation when lower right of
display shows "*".

Residual heat display

To reduce the risk of burns, MR Hei-End
displays the residual heat of the hotplate.
Any time the hotplate has a temperature
higher than 50°C after the rocker switch (A)
has been switched off, the warning shown
here will be displayed. The instrument will
switch off fully once the temperature has dropped below 50°C.

Connecting the interfaces

Switch the instrument off before plugging in
the interface cable.
Please use an interface cable with SUB-HDD
15 connectors and connect it to the socket
(K) on the rear panel of the instrument.

12.1 RS232 interface

Use the RS232 interface and a suitable
program (e.g. Microsoft
suitably programmed interface to enter and
read out the parameters described in 12.1.1. Configure Interface to receive data in 7 bit
ASCII format. Sending and receiving data has to end with a line feed.
