zoom mode.
The system does not switch automatically to
the flash synchronization time
– The camera/lens has central locking (most
compact cameras).
There is therefore no need to switch to synchroni-
zation time.
– The flash unit works with high-speed synchroniza-
tion. The system therefore does not switch
automatically to the flash synchronization time.
– The camera works with shutter speeds that are slower
than the flash synchronization time. Depending on the
camera mode, the system does not switch to flash
synchronization time (see camera manual).
The shots are too dark
– The subject is outside the range of the flash unit.
Note: With indirect flash, the range of the flash unit
diminishes.
– The subject contains very bright or reflective
picture sections. This deceives the measuring
system of the camera or flash unit. Set a positive
manual flash exposure compensation, e.g. +1 EV.
The shots are too bright
– When taking close-ups, the shots can be overexposed
(shots are too bright) if the slowest exposure time of the
flash unit is understepped.
Aperture F cannot be adjusted on the flash unit
– There is digital data exchange between the flash
unit and camera. It is not possible to adjust the
aperture!
