Maintenance instructions
Periodical maintenance consists of checking and maintaining the oil levels, cleaning or replacing the filtering cartridges and
lubricating of the parts indicated.
This maintenance, in accordance with the expiry dates and the products indicated, is essential for keeping your machine in a
safe and efficient condition and reducing running costs to a minimum.
Therefore it is advisable to rigorously follow the regulations and the tables illustrated herein.
(Danger) Before carrying out any maintenance, cleaning or repair work, stop the tractor on level ground, apply the handbrake
with the first gear engaged, rest the cutting head on the ground, disengage the power take-off, switch off the engine, remove
the starting key, put the cylinders into their locked position and discharge the pressure from the cylinder circuit by moving the
control lever in one direction and then the other.
(Warning) Do not pour or throw used oils away. Keep them in appropriate containers until they can be removed by a firm spe-
cialising in waste disposal.
- Transmission belts : on the machine are installed belts type BX52 ( SPBX 1360 ). The belts tension control must be made every
day, as shown below:
-If the machine is fitted on the tractor, remove the cardan shaft;
-Remove the " A "protection of the belts; pressing on the belts with a load P = 30 N , the camber must be F = 7 mm
-If the tension is not correct, adjust it, as shown below:
-Unloose the " F " nuts, which fasten the gear box to the machine.
-Unloose the " B " and " D" check nuts which block the adjusting screws.
-Rotate clockwise the " C " and " E "adjusting screws, of the same number of revolutions ,
to reach the correct tension.
-When the tension is correct, tighten " B", " D, " and " F " nuts
-To check the parallelism between the rotor's rotation axle and the gear box rotation axle, use a sufficiently long checking bar;
lean it against the external side of the rotor's pulley, then rotate it to reach the upper edge; both the edges must be on the same
level of the checking bar; if this condition is not reached, act on the " C "and " E " adjusting screws:
Replace the belts that are clearly worn out or that do not allow to reach the required tension.
TIGHTENING SCREWS AND FITTINGS
Every four working hours check the fixing screws for the knives.
Every fifty working hours check the hydraulic fittings and bolts.
- General maintenance :
Clean daily the front protection guard , check their integrity , and also that thei swing freely , if necessary grease them .
LUBRICATING OIL - Check and refill the lubricating oil level in the overdrive every 24 hours. Replace this oil after the first 100
working hours and subsequently after every 500 hours (about 800 grams).
GREASING - After every four hours of work grease or lubricate the rotorshaft and the rear roller bearings.
Every eight hours grease the pivot pins (see diagram below).
Before injecting the grease carefully clean the greaser or grease gun to avoid contact with contaminating substances, such as
earth or dust, which could damage your machine.
The grease should not be injected too energetically as this could damage the protective cover of the bearings.
