Automatic washing should be carried out more frequently if the water to be treated has a high TH, Total Alk-
alinity Index or iron content.
Disassemble the filter head and close the end of the central tube. Hold the tube in the center of the opening
and introduce into the body of the filter :
-
1 bag of 25 kgs of sand 1.35
-
3 bags of 50 liters of active carbon
Clean the upper body properly before reassembling the filter head.
tHe NeUtRAliSeR FilteR 1500
Used to adjust the pH of water by neutralising excess CO2. It can also be used to remove iron content through
the precipitation of iron salts.
Neutralite is used for waters with a low aggressive CO2 content, for waters with a high Total Alkalinity Index
(TAC>20°f) and for intermittent and/or highly variable flow-rate installations.
Magno will be preferred for waters with a high aggressive CO2 content, taking into account the pH>8.5 if the
Total Alkalinity Index is low and the risk of massing in the absence of continuous racking.
The admissible rates on the neutralising filters may vary significantly depending on the following parameters:
- Excess CO2 concentration,
- Installation operation mode (continuous or non-continuous),
- Regularity of operational flow-rates (constant or variable),
- Iron content of untreated raw water.
Please note that washing rate is higher when the washing processes are less frequent, the TH and Total Alk-
alinity Index of the untreated water are high or there is a high level of iron content in the untreated water.
WARNiNG: distribute each layer correctly over the entire surface of the filter.
Disassemble the filter head and close the end of the central tube. Hold the tube in the center of the opening
and introduce into the body of the filter :
- 1 bag of 25 kgs of sand 1.35
- 1 bag of 25 kgs of sand D
- 1 bag of 25 kgs of sand A
- 3 bags of 25 kgs of neutralit
Clean the upper body properly before reassembling the filter head.
FilteR BODY
The upper part of the bodies have a threaded 4" (DN100) aperture designed to receive the upper strainer and
the hydraulic head. Before the filter is loaded, the strainers must be checked to avoid any risk of losing filter
medium afterwards.
StRAiNeR SPeCiFiCAtiONS:
- The upper strainer has 0.2mm slots.
- The lower strainer is made up of a central baseplate with 6 arms with 0.2mm slots fixed in a star shape.
The length of the strainer arms varies depending on the diameter of the body.

HYDRAUliC CONNeCtiONS
3 hydraulic connections need to be made before the installation of the Filter 1500.
u
Untreated water inlet. Threaded 1"1/2 gas aperture: the supplied
hose must be used (no supplied).
v
Untreated water outlet. Threaded 1"1/2 gas aperture: the sup-
plied hose must be used (no supplied).
w
Regeneration water to waste. Threaded 3/8" or 3/4» gas.
The washing process waste water pipe is under pressure during was-
hing, ensure that it is correctly attached and that it does not place any
additional stress on the filter valve.
This pipe must be easy to disassemble for loading, unloading and valve
maintenance operations.
If an interruption to water supply will cause problems during filter washing, an optional bypass can be fitted
upstream of the filter valve which will provided untreated water during washing processes.
For particularly dirty water, filter washing with clean or filtered water is recommended. In order to do this, an
additional clean water inlet must be provided upstream of the filter as shown in the diagram below.
DeSCRiPtiON OF UNit
The Filter 1500 is controlled by a microprocessor.
The control box includes a LCD and 5 control keys :
- wash 1
- function 2
- Manu/Semi-auto 3
- advance 4
- reset 5
The program memories are backed-up by a rechargeable cadmium-nickel battery (autonomy : more than one
month at full load).
The filter should be washed whenever necessary, usually when the pressure of the filter has increased by 0.2
to 0.5 bar compared with the pressure of the clean filter. It should be noted that a slightly dirty filter is more
effective than a clean filter. It is therefore not desirable to wash a filter more often than is necessary.
Depending on the content the impurities and volumes of treated water, the filter loses more or less quickly
its effectiveness.
