8.1 Troubleshooting
If your XPO
Portable Oxygen Concentrator fails to operate

properly, refer to the following chart for possible causes and
solutions. If necessary, contact your service provider.
ALARM/WARNING:
SYMPTOM
START-UP INDICATOR
XPO
concentrator does not operate when

On/Off button pressed.
OR
Front panel lights DO NOT illuminate upon
start-up
OR
All front panel lights go dark.
NO BREATH DETECTED ALARM:
Continuous audible beep and red alarm
indicator is on continuously (not blinking)
upon start up.

PROBABLE CAUSE
Upon arrival, internal battery is shipped in shut
down mode.
On/Off button was not held down long
enough.
Internal battery is discharged (and
supplemental battery if connected to the unit).
Malfunction
XPO
concentrator has not detected a breath

for a predetermined time period (60 seconds).
SOLUTION
Connect XPO
concentrator to AC power
2
adapter
Try to power up the unit again while continuing
to press the On/Off button until the front
panel lights begin to illuminate. This takes
typically 2-3 seconds.
Connect XPO
concentrator to either the AC
2
or DC power adapter and retry.
Change to an alternate oxygen supply and
contact your equipment provider.

Verify the cannula is connected, not
kinked, properly positioned and you are
breathing through your nose.

If the alarm continues, change to another
source of oxygen and contact your
equipment provider.
