To activate Auto Raise,
1.
Simultaneously press and hold the Up button
beeps and the carry bar raises automatically to the programmed height.
• If you inadvertently enable Auto Raise while a patient is in the lift, the lift senses excess load and
stops automatically.
•
The overload threshold is approximately 10 lbs (4.5 kg).
• If during Auto Raise the carry bar accidentally gets tangled with obstacles such as furniture or
drapery, the lift automatically detects the change in the load, and if more than 10 lbs (4.5 kg), the
lift stops automatically.
2.
To interrupt ARF manually,
• Press any button on the hand controller.
or
• Grab the carry bar and hold it firmly.
A-450/625 lifts are shipped with the Auto Raise function off; contact your Handicare
authorized dealer to set up the Auto Raise Feature. Always ensure the carry bar is attached
to the lift before activating Auto Raise. The weight of the carry bar is required to ensure
correct function.
Move the Lift on the Track
The lift is normally parked at the charging station end of the track when not in use. Depending on the type
of lift (manual traversing or power traversing), you can move the lift along the track to a position directly
above the person to be lifted in one of two ways:
Manual Traversing Lift
1.
Lower the carry bar to a comfortable height so you can hold it easily.
2.
Grab hold of the carry bar and move the lift along the track by gently pushing the carry bar or the
individual in the sling.
Power Traversing Lift
1.
Use the blue and yellow directional hand controller buttons (
• The blue and yellow buttons correspond to the blue and yellow directional arrows on the underside
of the lift; simply press the button matching the one on the lift for the direction you want it to
move.
Never drag the lift along the track by pulling with the hand controller.
Avoid any obstructions that may cause injury to the individual in the sling or damage to
the lift.
Transfer an Individual
The following steps are intended to generally illustrate the procedure of using the lift to transfer an
individual from one location to another. Contact your local Handicare dealer or your local Handicare
business development manager if you have any questions or concerns.
Configurations vary by installation. Prior to attempting these steps, review the instructions for
the sling and additional accessories you are using with the lift.
