Lighting the pilot light and adjusting the burner flame

DANGER! Risk of explosion
Do not switch on the appliances if you smell gas in the installation room! Risk of explosion! Im­
mediately close the gas shut-off device at the customer location! Do not switch electrical appli­
ances On or Off! Open windows and doors! Thoroughly air out the installation room by provid­
ing a draught! Leave the room! Notify the emergency service of the gas grid operator!
Determine the location of the gas leak after adequate air exchange has taken place!
Lighting the pilot light
. Open the gas tap.
. Press in and hold the gas governor and turn it to the lighting symbol
D The pilot light is supplied with gas.
. While pressing the gas governor: Press in the Piezo igniter, if required several times, until
the pilot light is lit.
D After longer operating brakes: For example, if the service valve was closed, the pilot light's
lighting may take a little longer (as the gas supply line has to draw gas first).
. After the pilot light's lighting, keep the gas governor pressed for approx. 5 - 10 seconds
− to assure a sufficient heating of the thermal element
− and to prevent an automatic disconnection of the gas supply (automatic safety pilot).
Adjusting the burner flame
. After the lighting process, release the gas governor and adjust the desired heating capacity.
D Low-level heating, small flame symbol
D High-level heating, large flame symbol
. Repeat the lighting process for the second burner.
. If the device is not required for shorter periods, turn the gas governor to the "pilot light" posi­
tion.
D The burner flame is extinguished, while the pilot light remains lit. The burner remains ready
for operation.

. Work with proper back posture!
. Wear protective gloves!
. Use pot holders!
. Exercise appropriate caution!
