44. Police sirens
Turn on the switch
15
and you'll hear police sirens coming from the loudspeaker 20.
45. Machine-gun fire
Connect terminals C-D, as well as E-F. You'll hear a burst of machine gun fire from the loudspeaker.
46. Fire truck sirens
Connect terminals A-B, as well as C-D. You'll hear fire truck sirens from the loudspeaker.
47. Ambulance sirens
Connect terminals C-D, as well as B-G. You'll hear ambulance sirens from the loudspeaker.
48. Unknown sound effect
Assemble the circuit as in the diagram. Connect terminals C-D, as well as B-F. Turn on the switch
15. You'll hear unknown sound from the loudspeaker.
49. Flashing LED
20
17
Replace the loudspeaker
with the LED
(with the "plus" at the top – see the circuit diagram).
Connect terminals C-D, as well as E-F. The LED will start flashing.
50. Flashing lamp
Replace the loudspeaker
20
with the light-bulb 18. Connect terminals C-D, as well as E-F. The
lamp will start flashing.

51. Police sirens with light
Turn on the switch 15. You'll hear the police sirens and the lamp will light up.
52. Machine-gun fire with light
Connect terminals C-D and then connect E-F. You'll hear the machine-gun fire and the lamp will
light up.
53. Fire truck sirens with light
Connect terminals A-B and then C-D. You'll hear the fire truck sirens and the lamp will light up.
54. Ambulance sirens with light
Connect terminals C-D, as well as B-G. You'll hear ambulance sirens and the lamp will light up.
55. Unknown sound effect with light
Assemble the circuit as in the diagram. Connect terminals A-B. Turn on the switch 15. The piezo
buzzer
11
will generate a sound of fire truck sirens and the lamp will light up. Remove the wire,
which connects terminals A-B, connect B-F you'll hear unknown sound effect from the piezo
buzzer.
Never gaze at the burning lamps!
56. Light-activated police sirens
Replace the light-bulb
18
with the phototransistor
132
(and repeat this step for subsequent
versions of this circuit). Turn on the switch 15. How loud the police sirens are will depend on the
intensity of light falling on the phototransistor.
57. Light-activated machine-gun fire
Connect terminals C-D and then E-F. How loud the machine gun fire is will depend on the intensity
of the light.
58. Light-activated fire truck sirens
Connect terminals A-B, as well as C-D. How loud the fire truck sirens are will depend on the inten-
sity of light.
59. Light-activated ambulance sirens
Connect terminals C-D and then B-G. How loud the ambulance sirens are will depend on the intensi-
ty of light.
60. Light-activated sounds
Assemble the circuit as shown in the diagram. Connect terminals E-F with the phototransis-
tor
132
. Turn on the switch
15
. You'll hear the sound of a gun fire accompanied by flashing
lamp light, when light hits the phototransistor. If you shield the phototransistor from light – you'll
hear the sound of sirens, and Never gaze at the burning lamps! the lamp will light up constantly.
