BATTERIES
LOUDSPEAKER
The batteries intended for use in this electronics set are
A loudspeaker can transfer electrical oscillations into
AA size, 1.5 volts – or rechargeable 1.2 V batteries (not
sound waves. We find loudspeakers in headphones, te-
included). The maximum voltage in the circuit is 6 volts
levisions, computers, musicsystem loudspeakers and
– which is much lower than in your electric circuits at
many other uses. For electrical diagrams is indicated
home.
We want to remind you once again, never to
like this:
short-circuit the batteries!
For electrical diagrams is in-
dicated like this:
The design of the components in your electronics kit may differ slightly from those illustrated.
ELECTRIC MOTOR
An electric motor can convert electricity into mechani-
cal motion. When the current flows through the motor,
it causes the shaft of the motor to rotate. There is a
connector on the motor shaft, to which you can fix
different attachments. For electrical diagrams is indi-
cated like this:
!!! When installing the propeller on the motor, DO NOT push it on.
Instead, gently mount the propeller on the nozzle.

1. Lamp
Assemble the circuit as in the diagram. When the
switch15
is turned on, the lamp lights up. It goes out when the
switch
15
is turned off.
2. Magnetically-activated lamp
When the switch
15
is replaced by a reed switch
13
you can use the magnet to activate the lamp. When the
magnet is placed next to the reed switch, the lamp will light up. When the magnet is removed, the lamp will go out.
3. Electric fan
First install the fan propeller, then turn on the switch 15. The fan starts.
4. Magnetically-activated fan
Replace the switch
15
with the reed switch
13
and you get a magnetically-activated fan.
