Reinigung
- Zur Vermeidung elektrostatischer Aufladung darf das Gerät in
explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen nur mit einem feuchten Tuch
gereinigt werden.
- Bei feuchter Reinigung: Wasser oder milde, nicht-scheuernde,
nicht-kratzende Reinigungsmittel verwenden.
- Keine aggressiven Reinigungs- oder Lösungsmittel verwenden.

Entsorgung

- Nationale, lokale und gesetzliche Bestimmungen zur
Entsorgung beachten.
- Materialien getrennt dem Recycling zuführen. Enthaltene Batterien
fachgerecht entsorgen.
- Batterien nicht überlagern.

Intended use
The wireless position switch in series Ex RF 96 * SW*** complies with
the standards for explosion protection IEC/EN 60079-0 and IEC/EN
60079-11. It has been designed for the explosive areas of zones 1 and 2
as well as zones 21 and 22 as to IEC/EN 60079-14. The requirements
of IEC/EN 60079-14, e.g. regarding dust deposition and temperature
limits, must be met.
The device of type SW868 is intended for use in the European Union. It
complies with the European Union's Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) for
radio equipment.
The device of type SW915 is intended for use in Canada, USA
and Mexico.
The one-channel wireless switch is used to switch electrical loads via
radio transmission. The transmission is carried out at a frequency of
868.3 or 915 MHz. The receiver must conform to the sWave® protocol
of the steute modules.
Mounting and wiring
Mount the wireless position switch on an even surface. Fasten with 2 x
M4 cylinder head screws (at least 25 mm long). The wireless position
switch must be installed according to the mounting and wiring instruc-
tions of the receiver. Set up the receiver in non-hazardous areas only.
The wireless range depends on the local conditions. Thus, the radio
signal can be strongly affected by conductive materials. This also in-
cludes thin foils, e.g. aluminium laminations on insulation materials.
In individual cases, carry out a test with the field strength testing tool
swView 868 MHz, Material No. 1190393, or swView 915 MHz, Mate-
rial No. 1221794. Use the field strength testing tool in non-hazardous
areas only (near the receiver).
Design of wireless range
Because radio signals are electromagnetic waves, the signal is attenu-
ated on its way from the transmitter to the receiver. This means the
electrical as well as the magnetic field strengths decrease inversely
proportionally to the squared distance of transmitter and receiver
(E,H~1/r²). In addition to this natural restriction of the wireless range,
further interference factors occur: Metal parts, e.g. armours in walls,
metal foils of thermal insulations or vapour-deposited metal layer
heat protection glass reflect electromagnetic waves. Therefore, a so-
called deadspot can be found behind them. Radio waves are able to
penetrate walls, but the attenuation increases even more than in the
free field.

- For use in potentially explosive gas atmospheres, the wireless posi-
tion switch must be set up in such a way that dangerous electrostatic
charging is not to be expected.
- For use in dust explosion hazardous areas, the wireless position
switch must be set up in such a way that propagating brush dis-
charges are not to be expected.
N.B.
The processing of one switching command from transmitter to re-
ceiver lasts approx. 80 to 100 ms on basis of the sWave® data trans-
mission. The switching signal of a transmitter must not be generated
in shorter time sequences otherwise this signal will be suppressed.
