Select 5 preferred languages the device should be able to detect. Press on the language to
change it to another language. If a language should not be recognised, you can uncheck it by
pressing the checkmark in front of the language.
Voices
You can choose the voice you like to sound best for each language. This could be male or
female or certain dialects. Press on the voice's name to change it.
Behind the name is a play button to hear an example of the voice.
Speed
Set the speed at which the document is reading. This can be set from 50 to 200%. 100% is the
normal speed. This value changes when you use the speed button in the user interface while
reading.
Volume
Set the volume of the reading voice.
Use the play button behind the voice to hear a preview of the speed or volume.
System settings
The system settings allow you to adjust device settings such as menu language,
interface preset or software update. This item consists of two pages, in the bottom
right corner is an arrow to switch between the pages.
System language
The system language defines the text language of the menu. Press on the language to change it
to another. This does not affect the reading of documents.
System Voice
The system voice is what you hear in the menu when system audio feedback is on. Press on the
name to change it to another. Behind the name is a play button to hear an example of the voice.
This does not affect the reading of documents.
System Volume
The system volume can be set separately from the read-aloud volume for when you want the
system feedback to be a different volume than the actual read-aloud voice.
Equalizer
The equaliser setting can be set to change the tone of the device to have either more bass, the
left option, or more treble, the option on the right (the equaliser is set to mid, the middle option,
by default).
Reading size
The preferred text size to set how big the text is displayed in the digital view. Each new
document will start at this text size. Or press on the magnifier glass underneath the screen to
reset the text size back to this preferred text size.
Audio feedback
A setting of the device should provide feedback when a button is used. There are 3 options for
this;
•
Voice feedback: the device pronounces the function of the pressed button.
•
Tone feedback: press a button, and you will hear a single beep.
•
No feedback: you will hear no sound from the device except for the read-aloud voice.
