increased sensitivity to shadows or cause text to disappear. If this happens, increase the
brightness or adjust the contrast accordingly.
Save and exit
Activating this function saves any changes and exits the menu. If you didn't make
changes, the device stays on and can be used immediately. In case you made
changes, the device will automatically go through a power cycle (turn off and on again)
and the changes are saved.

i-See Speech mode
The i-See speech has the ability to read documents aloud. Therefore, the device switches to a
different camera to fully frame an A4 or US letter document.

Switching to Speech
When the i-See is just turned on, an hourglass icon appears in the top right corner of
the screen. This indicates that the text recognition software is not completely started.
When the hourglass has disappeared, the speech software is ready, and the device
can be switched to speech mode by pressing the power button shortly or by flipping
the remote control when it is connected.
Switching back to Live view mode can also be done by shortly pressing the power button or by
flipping the remote control when it is connected.
If you switch while reading, the reading will pause, and the position will be remembered, so
when you switch back to speech, you can continue reading where you left off.
Start reading
When the device is switched to the Speech
mode, it shows
there's a full page live view of the tableau. The
yellow marker indicates the scan area.
Place the document on the tableau so the
desired text is within the yellow area. Feel free
to rotate the document 90 degrees in case the
document is printed in landscape. The software
will automatically correct the position of the text,
even when it is upside down.
Press the play button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Or press inside the
yellow marker on the screen to capture the document. The device will now analyse
the text of the document. During this analysis, the device gives a tick-tock sound to
indicate it is in progress. This process can be interrupted by pressing the stop button in
the bottom right corner of the screen.
Recognition quality may vary due to ambient light, paper and print quality. Do
not rely entirely on processed text alone. Check critical documents (i.e. doctor
prescriptions) in image view or in the Live view mode.
When recognition is completed, the device will display the document in the desired text form.
By default, the document is displayed in "image view". A button interface bar is displayed at
the bottom of the screen to control the device. There you can start/pause reading or do other
functions. See the section "Reading functions".
Press the stop button in the bottom right corner to stop reading the document. The
device then returns to the start screen.
