Autocue
In digital text view, the device has the functionality for autocue. The text slowly scrolls on the
screen without a word marker or reading voice within this function. Depending on the digital
view options, the text will be displayed as full text, which scrolls down up or as a line, which
scrolls left to right.
The autocue can be started by double-tapping the touchscreen. It will automatically start
scrolling and can be paused by the play/pause button in the bar. Further, only the speed can be
changed with the speed icon on the button bar.
To go back to read the document with reading voice, double tap on the screen again.
The document will be closed when pressing the stop button, and the device will go to the start
screen. Autocue is not available when the device is set to Interface preset 3.
Languages
EN
The i-See speech can detect the
language of the document. This way,
the device uses the correct voice to
pronounce the text correctly.
The device has 5 preferred languages for
this purpose. If the detected language
is not among them, it uses the system
language, the same language as the
menu.
You can choose these 5 preferred
languages. Press the menu icon at the
bottom left of the screen. And go to the second item: "Read aloud preferences", the text balloon
icon. There you can select 5 languages. If you press on a language, you will get a list of available
languages to choose from. This way, you can make a selection of the languages you expect to
read documents from.
If the device detects a wrong language, you can uncheck a language by pressing the checkmark
in front of the language. Now this language is not used during detection. Or, if you want to have
a document forcibly read out in a specific language, mark only the desired language.
If you change the language while reading, you need to rescan the document again to let the
device function properly.
Voices
You can choose the voice you like to sound best for each language. This could be male or
female or certain dialects. These voices are expressed in persons' names. Behind the name is a
play button to hear an example of the voice.
To change a voice, press on the name, and it will display all available voices related to the
language. The flag before the name indicates which country/dialect it comes from.
User Interface
While reading, you can easily
navigate through the text or
change the reading speed with
the buttons at the interface bar at
the bottom of the screen.
By default, this button bar is
always visible. Further, the three
