Image view or digital view
The i-See Speech has the ability to display the recognised text as an image or as digital
text. With the image view, the layout of the document is still visible, which can be useful for
magazines or newspapers. When choosing digital text, only the text is displayed, which makes
reading along more comfortable. To be able to switch between the views, the recognition must
be completed first (play button).
By default, the document will be displayed in "image view". To switch between the
image or digital view, hold the "contrast button" (B1) underneath the screen pressed
for two seconds. This is an easy method to switch between different views.
In both "views", changing the text/background colours to create maximum contrast is possible.
To do this, tap the contrast button briefly to step through the different colour scenes.
Swipe over this icon from left to right or right to left to go to the next or previous available colour
scenes.

Digital View options
For the digital view, there are some options for how to display the text. Therefore,
we have to open the menu. Press the menu icon at the screen's bottom left corner
to open or close the menu. The menu always opens in "user preferences". Under the
item: "View", you can specify which view you start in by default: image or digital. When
this setting changes, it will be immediately active in the current situation. Also, the following
captured documents will be displayed in this setting.
The digital text can be displayed in 3 options: Full text, a reading line or per word. Select the
preferred option, and the digital text will always be displayed in this method when digital text is
switched on. The list of colour scenes can be adjusted as well. See section: Settings.
Zone detection
In the image view, the layout of the document
is still visible. This can be useful for magazines
or newspapers, because several articles can
be on one page or in multiple columns. In this
case, there is a chance that the software will
confuse them or read them in the wrong order.
For this, you can turn on Zone detection.
Press the menu icon in the bottom left corner
of the screen to open or close the menu. The
menu always opens in "user preferences".
Under the item: "Zone", you can choose between "zones" or "free mode".
With "zone mode", each text block is detected as its own zone. By tapping on these
zones, you can mark which pieces of text you want to read. Then, press the play
button to start reading. The device will follow the order you have selected. This is also
displayed with a number at the center of each selected zone.
In free mode, the device starts reading from top to bottom.
Zones in digital text
You can only select zones in the image view. The selected text zones can be read in digital
view by pressing the play button for two seconds. Then, the device only switches the selected
zones to the digital view. Once the selection is finished, the device switches automatically back
to the zone selection screen. Once the document contains pictures or other elements, it would
be possible in the zone selection screen to tap on the picture or element to display it enlarged.
Then, tap again to close it.
