and usefulness of the ABS is significantly im-
paired. The air in the system means that less
braking force can be built up, especially follow-
ing intervention by the ABS, in which the brake
lever also moves a little closer to the handle-
bars. There is an additional risk of crushing to
fingers that are not wrapped around the brake
lever and remain on the handle while braking.
Before every journey, you should therefore apply
the brake to check whether there is a clearly notice-
able pressure point and whether there is sufficient
clearance between the brake lever and the handle-
bar grip. The pressure point should be at approxi-
mately 1/3 of the brake lever travel. In case of
doubt, set the brake lever to the maximum possible
length of travel. If air finds its way into the brake
system, please have it bled by a professional. Al-
ways adapt your riding style to the present environ-
mental conditions and your personal cycling abili-
ties.
WARNING – check the ABS control unit
u
Before every journey, check that the ABS control
unit is fitted securely to the fork. If the ABS control
unit comes loose, it may fall into the spokes and
cause an accident.
WARNING – limited function during software
u
updates
The ABS may be deactivated and there may be no
indication from the ABS indicator light during soft-
ware updates. We do not recommend riding you
eBike during software updates.
CAUTION – Component damage or risk of crush-
u
ing
Take care not to clamp components such as brake
cables, harnesses or body parts between the ABS
control unit and the frame. This prevents compo-
nent damage and injury, even when the handlebar
is at full lock.
NOTE – do not allow brake fluid to come into
u
contact with the control unit
When servicing the ABS, make sure that the ABS
control unit does not come into contact with brake

fluid. If the ABS control unit comes into contact
with brake fluid, correct operation over the entire
service life cannot be guaranteed. In such cases,
clean the ABS control unit of the brake fluid as
quickly as possible. Servicing and repairs must only
be carried out by professionals.
Special safety instructions for the ABS Pro
ABS PRO IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR HIGH
u
SPORTIVE SEGMENT AND THEREFORE NEEDS
HIGH LEVEL OF RIDING SKILLS AS IT IS DEDI-
CATED FOR LATE, SHORT AND HARD BRAKING.
ABS PRO IS NOT INTENDED FOR NOVICE AND
NORMAL EVERYDAY RIDERS.
WARNING – specific ABS Pro applications for
u
specific use cases
To cover the possible use cases of ABS Pro, the fol-
lowing applications are available: Trail Pro and
Race. The applications are configured differently.
In the Race application, the rear wheel lifting con-
trol is deactivated. The applications can be
switched off if required (off mode). Always adapt
your riding style to the present environmental con-
ditions and your personal cycling abilities and also
wear appropriate personal protective equipment
for the use case.
WARNING – the ABS Pro control system is lim-
u
ited
The ABS Pro is configured to prevent an initial over-
braking of the front wheel, but it is not designed to
assist braking until the eBike comes to a complete
stop. The ABS function can be re-enabled for brak-
ing by briefly releasing the front-wheel brake. Al-
ways adapt your riding style to the present environ-
mental conditions and your personal cycling abili-
ties.
