- X : Duty cycle ratio: indicates the time during which the generator
can supply the corresponding current (same column). It is
expressed as a %, based on a 10 minute cycle (e.g. 60% = 6 working
minutes, 4 rest minutes; and so on).
If the use factors (referring to 40°C room temperature) are
surpassed, the thermal switch activates (the generator stays in
stand-by until its temperature goes back within the permitted
limits).
- A/V-A/V : It indicates the adjustment range of the cleaning current
(minimum and maximum) at the corresponding voltage.

4. DESCRIPTION OF THE GENERATOR
CONTROL, ADJUSTMENT AND CONNECTION DEVICES.
5. INSTALLATION
WARNING! THE GENERATOR MUST BE TURNED OFF AND
DISCONNECTED FROM THE MAINS BEFORE COMMENCING ANY
INSTALLATION AND POWER CONNECTION OPERATIONS.
THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS MUST ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY
EXPERT OR QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS.
PREPARATION
Unpack the generator and assemble the separate parts included in the
package.
WARNING! Position the generator on a flat surface of
adequate capacity for the weight to avoid dangerous turning over
or movements.
CONNECTION TO THE MAINS
- Before making any electrical connection, check the rating plate on the
generator corresponds to the mains voltage and frequency available in
the installation location.
- The generator must only be connected to a mains power supply with
neutral conductor connected to earth.
- To guarantee protection against indirect contact, use the different
switches type:
- Type A (
) for single phase machines.
- The generator is within the requirements of standard IEC/EN 61000-3-
12.
WARNING! Failure to comply with the above rules renders
the safety system (class I) ineffective, with resulting serious risks for
people (e.g. electric shock) and for property (e.g. fire).
CLEANING CIRCUIT CONNECTIONS
WARNING! BEFORE CARRYING OUT THE FOLLOWING
CONNECTIONS, MAKE SURE THE GENERATOR IS SWITCHED OFF AND
DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY.
Table 1 (TAB. 1) gives the recommended values for the cleaning cables
(in mm
) according to the maximum energy supplied by the generator.

Connect the cable to the piece to clean or the metal bench on which the
work piece is placed, as close as possible to the zone to clean.
Recommendations:
- Fully rotate the cleaning cable connectors in the quick coupling (if
present), to guarantee perfect electrical contact; on the contrary, the
connectors will overheat causing their rapid wear and loss of efficiency.
- Use cleaning cables that are as short as possible.
- Do not use metal structures that are not part of the workpiece, when
replacing the cleaning current return cable; this can endanger safety
and give unsatisfactory cleaning results.
6. CLEANING: PREPARATION OF CLEANING EQUIPMENT AND
DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE
Use the main switch to access the generator (Fig. B-1). The intensity of
the cleaning current supplied is adjustable using the same switch (Fig. C):
- position C-1 has low cleaning currents;
- position C-2 has high cleaning currents.
WARNING! Do not use high cleaning currents (C-2) with the
MARK or BRUSH tools.
THERMOSTATIC SAFEGUARD
The generator is protected by thermal overloads using the automatic
safeguard (automatically resetting thermostat). When the winders reach
the pre-set temperature, the safeguard disables the power supply circuit
and the yellow light on the front panel switches on (Fig. B-2). After a
cooling period of a few minutes, the safeguard will reset, the generator
will start to work again and the yellow light switches off.
PREPARATION OF CLEANING EQUIPMENT AND DESCRIPTION OF
PROCEDURE (Fig. E, F)
Preparation of the cleaning equipment should be carried out with the
generator off.
Pour a quantity of solution sufficient to carry out the cleaning operation
into the empty jar, in the supply kit.
WARNING! Each equipment should be associated its own
solution:
: yellow solution.
: green solution.
Connect the cleaning equipment to the power source. Connect the
power source earth to the piece to clean. Switch on the power source and
choose the desired current level. Dip the equipment in the jar containing
the solution and rub it in one direction and the other along the welding
seam to clean. At the end of the cleaning operation, rinse the piece
treated with water.
Attention: to avoid damaging the cleaning equipment,
avoid its metal part coming in electrical contact with the piece to
clean. This could occur if the strip is very worn, in which case replace
it.
Having terminated the procedure, before placing the cleaning equipment
in the specific case, remove the strip and rinse the metal part that came in
contact with the cleaning liquid in plenty of water.
7. MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
BEFORE
OPERATIONS, MAKE SURE THE GENERATOR IS SWITCHED OFF AND
DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY.
The cleaning equipment does not require any particular maintenance,
except rinsing already described in paragraph 6.
