WARNING!
•
Mask users must read, learn and respect the basic rules given in this manual.
•
The radiation emitted by the electric arc during welding can damage the eyes and burn the skin. In addition, welding produces sparks and drops of
molten metal that fly in all directions.
•
The protective mask must be worn to avoid potentially serious physical damages.
•
Do not, for any reason, set fire to the welding mask because the smoke it produces will damage the eyes and body if inhaled.
•
The material used to make the whole mask does not endanger people or the environment.
•
Regularly check the conditions of the mask:
-
Before using it, make sure that the filter-glass is in the correct position and correctly fixed in place: it must be exactly in the space described.
-
Keep the mask away from flames.
-
The mask must not be placed too close to the welding area.
-
When welding for extended periods, occasionally check the mask to make sure there are no signs of deformation or deterioration.
-
Subjects with particularly sensitive skin must take extra care: materials that may come into contact with the skin can cause allergic reactions.
•
This self-darkening mask is homologated only for protecting the face and eyes from ultraviolet and infrared radiation, from sparks and welding sprays.
It is not suitable for laser welding and oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, grinding, or for protecting the face against explosions or corrosive liquids.
•
Only replace mask parts with others that are specified in this manual. Non-observance of this regulation can expose the operator to health risks.
•
If the mask does not darken or presents operation problems, refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING chapter; if the problem persists immediately stop using
the mask and contact the person in charge or a distributor.
•
Do not immerse the filter in water or other liquids; do not use solvents to clean the filter.
•
Only use the mask in temperatures of between: -5°C (+23°F) ÷ +55°C (+131°F).
•
Only store the mask in temperatures of between: -20°C (-4°F) ÷ +65°C (+149°F).
•
Do not allow the filter to come into contact with liquid and dirt.
•
Do not open the filter container.
•
Never use the mask without the internal and external transparent filter protections.
•
Do not use replacement parts other than those original TELWIN.
Unauthorized modifications and replacement parts will void the warranty and expose the operator to the risk of personal injury.
MAINTENANCE
•
Frequently check the mask components and replace any worn or damaged parts.
•
Replace the external/internal transparent filter protection if it is broken, scored, scratched and out of shape. Damaged protections impair the vision of
the user, which lowers mask protection to a dangerous level.
•
Regularly clean the filter surface with a soft cloth and a non-aggressive cleaning solution, for example one for cleaning glass (do not pour the product
directly onto the filter).
•
Get into the habit of making sure that the solar cells and the sensors have not darkened or are not covered in dirt. If they have or if they are, clean them
with a soft paper tissue, if necessary slightly dampened with a preparation for cleaning glass (do not pour the product directly onto the filter).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The mask must always and only be used to protect the face and eyes during welding. It was designed to guarantee maximum protection during welding, to
be easy to assemble, comfortable to wear and of top quality when used.
The mask and consequently the filter glass viewing area, must be kept as close as possible to the eyes during welding, in order to protect them from the
electric arc and possible drops of molten metal.
After using the mask and before putting it away after working, it must be checked to verify integrity and to eliminate any drops of molten metal that may be
present on the viewing filter, which can reduce its visual performance.
The mask must be placed in a way that does not allow its dimensions to deform permanently, or the viewing filter to break.
Before starting to weld make sure that the filter and the internal and external transparent protections are correctly positioned. Table 1 gives the recommended
