– Open the cover -3- over the battery negative terminal.
– Loosen the nut -1- by a few turns and pull off the battery ter-
minal clamp -2- of the earth wire from the battery terminal.
Connecting
– Disconnect the electrical connector from the battery monitor
control unit -J367-.
– Position the battery terminal clamp -2- for the earth wire, and
tighten the nut -1- to the tightening torque.
– Re-connect the electrical connector to the battery monitor
control unit -J367-.
– Close the cover -3- over the battery negative terminal.

Removing and installing the trim for the
rear cross panel
Removing
– Lift the luggage compartment floor mat and hook onto the
body.
"Equipment variant" Luggage compartment light -W3- Removing
and installing the rear cross panel trim:
– Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, push in the locking lug -1-
and prise out the luggage compartment light -2-.
– Detach the electrical connector -3-.
– Remove the lip of the tailgate seal -2- near the trim -1- for
the rear cross panel.
– Unclip the trim -1- for the rear cross panel using the disas-
sembly wedge -3409-, pulling the trim vertically upwards -in
the direction of the arrows-.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse of this order. Please
note the following point:
