Residual hazards, layout of safety instructions

All power connections (L1, L2, L3, 1U, 1V, 1W, 2U, 2V, 2W, B1, B2 and BN) can carry
l
dangerous voltage when the starttec is connected to the mains. Therefore the starttec
must be disconnected before you start working on it or open the housing.
Even if the starttec is inhibited (terminal 28 = LOW), the connections 1V, 2V, B1 and
l
B2 carry dangerous voltage! Depending on the machine/system additional protection
measures might be necessary.
External influence - e.g. overvoltage by lightning - can damage the power stage of the
l
starttec and cause the motor to run on two phases even if the starttec is inhibited
(terminal 28 = LOW) or the 24 VDC power supply is switched off Depending on the
machine/system additional protection measures (additional mains separation) might
be necessary.
The metal housing of the reaches an operating temperature of > 60 °C:
l
– Direct skin contact with the metal housing can lead to burns.
– Depending on the machine/system additional protection covers might be necessary.
The connected motor can be overheated if
l
– they are not equipped with a PTC thermistor or thermal contact (NC contact).
– the temperature monitoring (PTC thermistor or NC contact) is not connected to the
starttec.
– the temperature monitoring has not be configured (C0119).
– the rated motor current for the I
switch or C0120).
2
– the I
t-monitoring is switched off (step switch or C0121).
