→ Pratical advice on use and maintenance
When out on the water, be sure to keep a safe distance from all obstacles, other users and watercraft, and
keep up to date with the weather forecast. It is your responsibility to decide whether or not to go out on the
water, depending on the weather conditions observed and forecast. Always be careful. Don't practice in an
offshore wind.
Regularly check and maintain your equipment. Sand and salt can reduce the lifespan of your gear.
- Untangle your lines and bridles completely before each session.
- Systematically check the integrity of your lines and bridles. If your bridles are worn or damaged, replace
them to avoid breakage while sailing.
- Regularly inspect the condition of your kite and safety systems. Spot any holes or nicks and have them
repaired before they get worse. Check and test the safety system on your bar. Check that your safety
line slides smoothly and that your un-twister works properly.
- Secure your kite on the beach at any time.
- Don't leave your kite inflated on the beach all day waiting for the wind to blow. Flapping and UV rays will
greatly reduce the longevity of your kite.
- Never over-inflate your kite. There is a real risk of the kite exploding, particularly in the event of a
nosedive.
- Avoid rinsing your kite with clean water. The chlorine in treated water can alter the kite's surface
treatments.
- Take care not to let water or sand enter the bladders
- Let your kite dry, preferably in the shade, before folding and storing it. Do not store your kite wet
or damp.
- When not riding, store your kite correctly and not exposed to the sun or moon.
- When moving an inflated kite, turn it over extrados faced down and avoid dragging the canopy and
leading edge on the ground.
- Always set your kite down on a clean, clear surface, free from shells, sharp objects or plants.
→ Storage
Dry your kite as much as possible before storing it, especially if it is wet with fresh water (rain, sailing in a
lake, ...). Always store it in a place protected from damp and UV light.
→ Repairing/Changing a bladder
If you notice that your kite is losing pressure on a batten or the leading edge when the ONE-PUMP systems
are closed, it's because your bladder has punctured, usually die to sharp objects on the ground. Do not
worry, most of them can be repaired or even changed.
- Remove the bladder from the kite after disconnecting all ONE-PUMP system valves.
- Identify the leak visually or using soapy water. To do this, slightly inflate the bladder after blocking any
valves that could release air.
- Once the leak is identified, using your repair kit supplied with the kite, lightly sand the clean, dry bladder
around the hole and use a self-adhesive patch to seal it. It glues instantly.
- You can immediately replace the bladder in the kite and reconnect the ONE-PUMP valves. Be careful,
a hernia caused during reinstallation of the bladder will cause a bladder explosion. When re-inflating
the bladder for the first time, proceed slowly and carefully. In case of doubt, remove the bladder and
reinstall it, taking care not to twist it.
