Test the Hand Control
Perform a brief test to ensure proper connectivity:
1.
Turn on the lift as shown on page .
2.
Press any button on the Hand Control. The Hand Control screen lights up.
3.
Raise and lower the lift using the Up button
4.
If the lift moves up and down, the Hand Control is properly connected.
5.
If the lift does not move correctly, double-check:
That the lift is on
That the Hand Control connector is properly connected
That the Hand Control does not display Slack Detected
If there are still problems with the lift, contact your local Handicare authorized dealer
for service.
Mount the Hand Control
While the lift is not in-use, the hand control can be mounted on to the top of the lift using the
angled slider. Align the hand control with the slider on the cover, and slide the hand control
down. To remove, pull the hand control up and over until it is disengaged from the slider.
Before using the AP300/450 lift system, check the lift, track, and sling for
any unusual wear or damage. Refer to the owner's manual for each piece
of additional equipment to determine what should be checked. If anything
looks unusual, contact your local Handicare dealer or your local
Handicare business development manager before use. Failure to check
the lift could result in damage to the lift or serious injury to the operator
or the individual being lifted.

Press any button on the Hand Control to turn the lift on. The indicator light on lift membrane
lights green and the display screen on Hand Control displays [Ready].
If the lift batteries require charging, the indicator on the membrane lights orange, a beep

audible alarm sounds when the button is pressed, and the Hand Control displays the
message [Low Battery].

If the lift batteries are discharged to 25% of capacity, the Hand Control displays the
message [Low Battery] and the lift continues to function until the battery status reaches
10-15%. The Battery indicater LED lights blinking green.
4.
If the lift batteries are discharged to 10-15% of capacity, the Hand Control displays the
message [Very low battery], the indicator on the lift membrane lights red, and a beep
audible alarm sounds when the button is pressed. The lift will not raise, but will lower and
the emergency lowering will still function.
