Check that the chair is in the locked position. RIDE Move and hold the toggle in the desired direction of travel. The display shows a “8/9”, the lift will start slowly after 1 second.

  • Page 11 FOLD UP CLICK! Fold up the armrests, footplate and seat {A}. Push the handle, located to the left or right under the seat, downwards {B}. Swivel the seat until you hear a ‘click’. The seat is now in the locked position. PARK Press and hold the up or down button on the remote control until the lift reaches a charge point.
  • Page 12 CHARGE There are charge points for recharging the lift’s batteries at the top and bottom of the rail (there may be additional charge points). If the lift is not in the correct position at the charge point, the lift beeps for 15 seconds and the display shows a “2”. The lift does not work if the batteries are flat.

  • Page 14 POWERED FOOTREST To operate a POWERED FOOTREST press the switch under the armrest. The stairlift should beep whilst folding the footrest. Always ensure the footplate is in the down position during travel. HINGED RAIL With the FOLDING HINGE option, the seat stops just above the hinged rail. Move the toggle up or down to fold or unfold the rail.
  • Page 15 HINGED RAIL [CHARGING] Do not leave the lift on the hinged rail after use. Use the remote control to move the lift to a charge point and recharge the batteries. The first stopping point is a charge point. HINGE EMERGENCY OPERATION If you are using the stairlift and the hinge system fails, please return to upper landing and call for assistance.

  • Page 17 FOREWORD Your Handicare 4000 stairlift is a sophisticated product that has been specifically developed to carry one person (max 136 kg/21.4 stone/300 lbs) sitting on the seat (heavy duty type: max 160 kg/25 stone/352 lbs). Before using your Handicare 4000 stairlift please read this manual thoroughly to familiarise yourself with how to operate your stairlift.
  • Page 18 The manufacturer may, at its discretion, provide factory reconditioned parts. This warranty is provided to the Authorised Handicare Dealer on behalf of the final purchaser of the product and is not transferable. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover labour charges for the removal, repair or replacement of warranty parts.
  • Page 19 Handicare stairlifts have when delivered ex works. Suppliers of used Handicare stairlifts other than dealers who have been certified by Handicare are not qualified to perform such work, e.g. installing a rail for a user other than the original Handicare rail.
  • Page 20 DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAY The stairlift is fitted with a diagnostic display that displays a code to help diagnose faults. Refer to APPENDIX E for an explanation of the diagnostic codes.   • Page 21 STOP BUTTON C A U S E S O L U T I O N Problem: the lift does not travel in either direction, the display shows a “0” [1] and the stop button [2] is illuminated. Cause: the stop button has been pressed. Solution: press the stop button once.
  • Page 22 ARMREST C A U S E S O L U T I O N Problem: the lift does not travel in either direction and the display shows a “-”. Cause: an armrest has not been folded down. Controleer of de zitting is vergrendeld en niet kan draaien. RIJDEN Beweeg en houd de joystick in de gewenste rijrichting. De display laat een “8/9” zien, de lift zet zich geleidelijk in beweging.

  • Page 41 OPKLAPPEN CLICK! Klap de armleuningen, voetenplank en de stoelzitting op {A}. Druk de hendel links of rechts onder de zitting, naar beneden {B}. Draai de stoel totdat u een klikgeluid hoort. De stoel staat nu in de vergrendelde positie. PARKEREN Houd de knop op de afstandsbediening ingedrukt totdat de lift een oplaadstation bereikt.
  • Page 42 OPLADEN Boven- en onder aan de rail bevindt zich een oplaadstation waar de accu’s van de lift zich opladen (extra oplaadstations mogelijk). Wanneer de lift niet (juist) op het oplaadstation staat, piept de lift gedurende 15 seconden en display geeft een “2” aan. Wanneer de accu’s leeg zijn werkt de lift niet.

  • Page 44 AUTOMATISCHE VOETENPLANK Gebruik de schakelaar onder de armleuning om de AUTOMATISCHE VOETENPLANK in te klappen. U hoort een geluidssignaal terwijl de voetenplank inklapt. Zorg ervoor dat tijdens het rijden van de lift de voetenplank altijd uitgeklapt is. KLAPRAIL Met de KLAPRAIL-optie komt de stoel net boven de klaprail tot stilstand. Beweeg de joystick naar boven of naar beneden om de rail op- of uit te klappen.
  • Page 45 KLAPRAIL [PARKEREN] Laat de lift na gebruik niet op de klaprail staan. Met de afstandsbediening stuurt u de lift naar het oplaadstation zodat de accu’s opladen. Het eerste stoppunt is het iets hoger gelegen laadstation. KLAPRAIL NOODBEDIENING Wanneer U gebruik maakt van de stoeltraplift en de automatische klaprail functioneert niet, kunt u altijd terug rijden naar de bovenste verdieping, waar u voor hulp kunt bellen.

  • Page 47 Uw Handicare 4000-traplift is een geavanceerd product bedoeld om één persoon (max. 136 kg) in een zittende houding te vervoeren (heavy duty type: max. 160 kg). Lees deze handleiding aandachtig door, zodat u weet hoe de Handicare 4000-traplift werkt voordat u ervan gebruikmaakt. De traplift is uitgerust met de nieuwste technologie en gemaakt in overeenstemming met erkende veiligheidsvoorschriften.
  • Page 48 De klant is dan ook verantwoordelijk voor de kwaliteit ervan. Handicare noch de geautoriseerde dealers van Handicare kunnen aansprakelijk worden gesteld voor de geschiktheid van de constructie die de installatie moet dragen of die zich rond de installatie bevindt.
  • Page 49 Als gevolg van dat verval, is Handicare onder meer niet verantwoordelijk/niet aansprakelijk voor de eventuele gevolgen van uitval van de bewuste traplift. Daar komt bij dat onderhoud van de Handicare-traplift alleen mag worden uitgevoerd met originele door Handicare goedgekeurde reserve-onderdelen.
  • Page 50 DIAGNOSTISCHE DISPLAY Als sprake is van een storing, wordt deze door middel van een code weergegeven op de diagnostische display van de traplift. Raadpleeg BIJLAGE E voor meer informatie over de diagnostische codes. Geef deze codes door aan de klantenservice wanneer u een storing meldt.

  • Page 53 BATTERIJEN AB RED light O O R Z A A K O P L O S S I N G Probleem: de lift beweegt niet in beide richtingen en de LED op de afstandsbediening brandt rood bij bediening. Oorzaak: de batterijen in de afstandsbediening zijn leeg. Oplossing: vervang de batterijen van de afstandsbediening.
  • Page 54 OBSTAKEL O O R Z A A K O P L O S S I N G Probleem: de lift beweegt slecht in één richting en de display geeft een “4/6” aan. Oorzaak: er bevindt zich een obstakel tussen de lift en de trap. Oplossing: beweeg de lift in tegenovergestelde richting{A} en neem het obstakel weg{B}.

Il servoscala emetterà un segnale acustico durante lo spostamento del poggiapiedi. GUIDA RIBALTABILE Se è presente la GUIDA RIBALTABILE, il sedile si arresterà appena sopra di essa. Per sollevare o abbassare la guida, puntare il joystick verso l’alto o verso il basso.
