•
When planning and installing anchor devices, please observe the BG information "Basic planning
principles for anchor devices on roofs" ( BGI 5164).
•
The minimum clearance between anchor point and edge must at least be 2.5 m.
•
When installing the anchor points, the load-carrying capacity of the subsoil must be considered.
•
Compatibility with similar systems is not guaranteed and failure to comply with this specification may pose
a danger to life and limb.
•
Individual anchoring points serve for the fall protection of persons and not of objects or as transport
anchoring points.
•
Furthermore, the approval and the processing instructions of the fixtures must be observed during
installation. The system approval becomes invalid if another type of fixtures is used for installation. The
system must only be attached with the fixtures provided by Skylotec and all supplied fixing
elements of one set must be used in all cases, i.e. if 4 screw anchors (SPM-002) were delivered, all
of them must be installed according to the assembly instructions!
•
The minimum strength class of concrete must be C20/C25; for prestressed concrete C45/55 and
cellular concrete must have at least strength class 6 according to DIN 4223.
•
Avoid working above the anchor point (see operating instructions for lanyard).
•
Only trained and instructed users may use single anchor points.
•
The employer or a technical expert should instruct the user in how to correctly use the system.
•
Individual anchoring points must be inspected and maintained by a technical expert at annual intervals.
•
Check the individual anchoring point and other personal fall arrest equipment (PFAE) for defects before
each use. Do not use these products if you have any doubt about their correct functionality and, if this is
the case, have a technical expert check the products.
•
Do not use damaged anchoring points and/or lanyards or any other parts of the personal fall arrest
equipment (PFAE). Have the system or the PFAE checked by the manufacturer or a technical expert if
necessary.
•
After a fall, individual anchoring points must not be reused.
•
Incorrectly applied adhesives or incorrectly fitted threaded fittings may become loose and compromise the
safe functioning of the individual anchoring points!
•
Improper repair work, maintenance, and/or manipulations of the individual anchoring points and their
components are a danger to life and limb. In this case, all warranties will become void and SKYLOTEC
GmbH will refuse any liability.
•
This product may only be used with lanyard elements (in conformity with EN 362) and personal fall arrest
equipment.
•
When using additional personal protective equipment, you have to comply with relevant operating
instructions and applicable regulations .

GENERAL ASSEMBLY REQUIREMENTS
All individual parts must be cleaned of dirt prior to being fitted.
Avoid allowing the system to come into contact with aggressive materials and chemicals, as well as with plaster,
cement, or similar.
To ensure the correct functioning of the product, remove mortar residue and / or other contaminants immediately.
The products must be installed strictly according to the assembly instructions of the manufacturer.
Deviations are not permitted. Only original SKYLOTEC parts should be used for assembly and replacement.
Combining parts or elements from other manufacturers or suppliers may constitute a danger to life and limb!
The components should be treated with care and must not be used improperly. A set of identification labels must be
attached to each entry and exit point.
For free-standing structures, the following securing devices are strictly required during assembly:
Safety harness according to EN 361 and separate safety ropes with energy absorber according to EN 354/355.
Since structurally anchored attachement points/devices are no longer subject to the PPS Directive, they
may no longer be CE marked. In Germany the building inspectorate approval is required for such products.
In Europe, different national regulations apply to these products; under certain circumstances a specific
approval is required.
