Mechanical assembly

The installation instructions provided below are recommendations only. The actual arrangement of
the individual components depends on the design of the gate in question and the conditions on the
site of installation.

- Fit mounting angles (3) and (4) to the gate leaf using three suitable M6 (19) screws.
Fit the ground terminal (10) as shown above using one of the mounting angle screws.
Mounting positions should be chosen in such a way that the steel cable (5) is able to move freely
(distance between steel cable and gate leaf 40 mm) and that the individual system components
do not restrict the movements of the gate.
The mounting angles must be fitted to the gate with three screws each in order to ensure the proper
functioning of the system. The screws must be tightened as much as possible.
- Screw the coil core SPK 12 (1) hand-tight to mounting angle (4) together with the steel
cable's press-on thread and the self-locking nut with the serrated lock washer (14) using a
spanner.
The coil core SPK 12 is generally mounted to the side of the primary closing edge.
The steel cable must not twist when unwinding.
- Screw the coil core SPK 9 (2) to the mounting plate (6) using the two supplied screws (17) and then
guide the steel cable through the coil core.
- Screw together clamping bolt (9), plain washers (16), nuts (15) and tension spring (8) as shown above.
Initially, only tighten the tension spring by approx. 5 turns when attaching it to the clamping bolt.
- Place the steel cable onto the thimble (11) as shown above and engage with the tension spring.
Tighten the steel cable and lock into place using rope clip (12).
- Use the tension spring to tighten the steel cable to such an extent that the individual coils of the
tension spring are separated by approx. 1 mm gaps.
The tension spring must not turn while being tightened.
- Secure the tension spring and clamping bolt with one of the two attached nuts.
