5. Maintenance and care
Please note:
All cleaning and maintenance messages are shown on the display by red lettering.
Turn the left control knob (3) until the message on the display is shown in blue. Turn
the right control knob (3) and follow the instructions on the display. See also the par-
ticular chapters 5.1 to 5.5.
If you wish to carry out the cleaning and maintenance program without the machine
requesting you to do so, follow the procedures described in chapters 5.1 to 5.5.
5.1 Rinsing the frother
The frother (Fig. E) should be cleaned after every preparation of a drink with milk, but
at the latest when the cleaning request appears on the display.
Please note:
The running rinsing program must not be interrupted!
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Setting» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Care» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Care rinse» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Rinse frother» and press the knob to confirm.
• On the display appears «Hose to spout» alternating with «and into drip tray».
• Connect the end of the hose to the spout (4) and the other end to the drip tray (fig. B).
TIP:
Place a sufficiently large receptacle (approx. 0.5 l) under the outlet (4).
• Press the right control knob (3).
• On the display «Rinse frother» appears.
• Rinsing proceeds automatically. As soon as the display shows «Setting», the
machine is ready for operation.
5.2 Rinsing the outlet (spout)
You should rinse the outlet (4) from time to time:
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Setting» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Care» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Care rinse» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to «Rinse spout» and press the knob to confirm.
TIP:
Place a sufficiently large receptacle under the outlet (4).
• On the display «System is rinsing» appears.
• Rinsing proceeds automatically. As soon as the display shows «Setting», the
machine is ready for operation.
