Please note:
The pre-ground coffee shaft is not intended for storage. You should therefore never
fill more than one portion into the shaft, and only use fresh or vacuum-packed coffee
powder from ground beans. Soluble instant coffee must not be used.
3.8 Programming the standard settings
The standard settings for each type of coffee can be changed in the menu option
«Setting» according to your taste, so that they do not have to be adjusted any more
in the main menu.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to the position «Setting» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to the position «Recipes» and press the knob to confirm.
• Turn the right control knob (3) to the desired type of coffee and press the knob to
confirm.
Each type of coffee has different settings that can be changed:
Coffee: Live Prog. Start* / Aroma / Coffee/ Temperature**
Espresso: Live Prog. Start* / Aroma / Coffee/ Temperature**
Cappuccino: Live Prog. Start* / Aroma / Coffee/ Froth / Temperature**
Latte Macchiato: Live Prog. Start* / Aroma / Coffee/ Milk / Froth / Temperature**
Warm milk: Live Prog. Start* / Milk / Froth
Hot water: Live Prog. Start* / Water

*The live programming is described in chapter 3.9.
**This setting only appears if the menu option «Temperature» is individually programmed in the «Settings» list
(see chapter 4.3)
• Turn the right control knob (3) to the right until the first changeable setting appears.
• As soon as the setting has been adjusted (as described below), turn the right con-
trol knob (3) further to the right to the next setting.

You can return at any time to the previous level by pressing the left control knob (2).

You can also return to the type of coffee level by turning the right control knob
(3) to the «Exit» setting and pressing the control knob to confirm.
Aroma
Coffee strength can be set to five levels, depending on taste:
1 bean * = Very mild less than approx. 7 g coffee powder (e.g. very mild Latte Macchiato)
2 beans = Mild approx. 7 g coffee powder (e.g. Café au lait, Cappuccino)
3 beans = Normal approx. 9 g coffee powder (e.g. Café crème)
4 beans = Strong approx. 11 g coffee powder (e.g. Espresso, strong coffee)
5 beans * = Very strong more than 11 g coffee powder (e.g. very strong Espresso)
