When the console is first started, a Security Alert dialog box may
appear on PCs with Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2. The dialog
box allows you to configure the Windows firewall to unblock
incoming traffic from TCP/IP ports used by the console
(identified in the dialog box as 'java'). The console will not
function unless it is unblocked.
IMPORTANT: Permitting a program to communicate through
!
Windows Firewall makes the computer more vulnerable to
attacks by malicious users and viruses.

BLF Feature Programming Requirements
The BLF (Busy Lamp Field) feature requires the programming of one
or more virtual PKMs on the MCD. Each PKM has keys that can be
configured to provide the console with BLF information and DSS
(Direct Station Selection) functionality for up to 48 extensions. For
programming information, see "Attendant DSS/BLF Display" in the
MCD System Tool Help.
To enable the BLF feature (on Release 3.1 and later) after you have
installed the console:
1.
Start the console.
2.
Click Options in the tools menu, then select BLF Settings.
3.
Select Enable Busy Lamp Field Feature.
4.
Enter a directory location for the Shared and Private BLF lists
folders by selecting Browse beside the respective fields and
navigating to the correct location.
5.
Click OK.
6.
Exit the console, then restart.
NOTE: The Console BLF feature is supported on Resilient MCD
systems, except for failover.
