10. Execute the software by following one of the steps below:
• Insert the 5550 IP Console software disk that you created in
step 9 in the CD-ROM.
• Unzip the software file you downloaded in Step 7 and execute
the install process.
11. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
IMPORTANT: To launch the console without administrative

privileges, DO NOT install it in the default folder, C:\Program
Files\Mitel. Instead, install in a folder such as C:\5550ip. Select
the same folder as the destination for files associated with the
Bulletin Board and BLF features. To allow access to these files
from multiple consoles, locate them on a shared network drive.
When installation is complete, the Configuration Wizard starts.
The wizard is used to register the console with the MCD.
NOTE: Accept the default location for the files and folders when
installing the 5550 IP Console software on Windows Vista.
You will need to:

NOTE: The Configuration Wizard can be run again to correct
errors, or following changes to information previously entered, by
clicking the Windows Start button and choosing > All Programs >
Mitel > 5550 IP Console > Tools > Configuration Wizard.
12. Reboot the PC after installation is complete.
