Preparing to inhale
- Please follow the hygiene regulations before the device is used
for the first time, before it is re-used, and after any long break in
use.
- Ensure that the nebuliser was cleaned, disinfected, and, if appro-
priate, sterilised after the last treatment (see Chapter 6 "Hygienic
re-use").
4.1 Assembling the nebuliser
Figure A:
The individual nebuliser parts are assembled as follows:
• Push the airflow control (10) as far as it will go onto the nozzle (9) and then
push both parts into the medication cup from below (5).
• Insert the medication cup in the nebuliser lower section (8).
• Screw the nebuliser upper section (4) onto the nebuliser lower section.
• Slide the chamber (3) into the nebuliser upper section.
• Put the inspiratory valve (1) with the valve shim (2) on the chamber.
• Attach the LL adapter (6) to the nebuliser lower section (8) and connect the
connection tubing (12) to the LL adapter and to the compressor or the
PARI CENTRAL.
• Attach the mouthpiece (11) or the child or adult mask (13).
Safety instruction for PARI Child and Adult masks soft:
It is essential to ensure that the expiratory valve plate on your mask
is pressed out before each use (see Figure C).
Inhalation with the mouthpiece is the most effective form of inhalation, since
it results in minimum medication loss on the way to the lung. If it is not possi-
ble to use a mouthpiece, or if the patient prefers to inhale through a mask,
PARI can provide the right accessories.
