RANGER PROSPECTOR PRO SR TRACK KIT
KIT PN 2878074

SECTION 5 : MAINTENANCE

WARNING
Always clean the Track Kit after use to make sure
there is no scrap accumulation inside the frame.
Failure to do so will result in premature wear of
components.
WARNING
Never use solvents to clean rubber tracks. These
substances may cause rapid degradation of the
rubber and the plastic. Use only water with mild
detergent.
After the first two hours of use :
Check the tightness of the different components and
readjust the tension of the tracks. Track elongation is
normal during the initial use of the Track Kit. Adjusting the
tension of the tracks is important to prevent derailing,
ratcheting, and premature wear of the track and the
sprocket. Follow the track tension adjustments in section 3.
Take particular care to check the hub nuts.

Daily maintenance :

Do a complete visual inspection of the Track Kit, the
mounts and the anti-rotation arms in order to determine
premature wear, missing parts, loose parts or breakage.
Check the hub nuts and the track tension. Adjust or
replace any parts as needed.
Maintenance after 50 hours of use :
Apply a good quality grease to the main axles after every
50 hours of use (see figures 19 and 20).

If the vehicle is operated in wet or soft conditions,
lubricate the grease points after each run to clean out any
contaminants. Sweep the excess grease from the hub seal.
NOTE : The wheel assembly units do not need to be
greased as they are equipped with sealed ball bearings.
Verify front and rear anti-rotation arm adjustments.
Lubricate front anti-rotation arm sliding rod.
Lubricate front anti-rotation sliding rods :
1. Lift the front portion of the front track to compress
the anti-rotation spring.
2. Lubricate the sliding rod.

Seasonal maintenance :

Do a complete clean up, inspection of the components and
their tightness. Replace any used or damaged parts,
lubricate.
