RANGER PROSPECTOR PRO SR TRACK KIT
KIT PN 2878074

SECTION 4 : OPERATION

A vehicle equipped with tracks advances slower than
when operating on its original wheels.
The Track Kit is geared down by 30% to improve torque
and traction. The speedometer and odometer will give
readings 30% higher than actual speed and mileage while
the Track Kit is installed.
WARNING
Carefully read the vehicle operator's manual to
learn of its features and limitations.
Only those familiar with the handling of the the vehicle
and those familiar with the operation manual should
operate it with the "PROSPECTOR PRO SR" tracks. Do
not go faster than the limits set out in the vehicle manual.
Always operate the vehicle with the Track Kit in 4WD
mode. Riding in 2WD may damage the vehicle and affect
the ride.
WARNING
Operating in snow conditions may create an ice film
on the brake discs. Apply the brakes periodically
while riding to remove the ice film. Take into
consideration that the braking distance may be
increased.
WARNING
The Track Kit increases the height of the vehicle
and increases the traction. Handle your vehicle with
care.

WARNING
Do not attempt to pass over obstacles such as stumps
that are bigger than 12 inches (30cm) in diameter as
there is a risk that the obstacle could get stuck
between the tracks, damaging the undercarriage
parts of the vehicle.
WARNING
Carefully read the installation, owner's and
maintenance manual for the Track Kit before
handling in order to better understand its features
and limitations. Everyone who operates this vehicle
must be given this information.
WARNING
There is a great risk of personal injury if you
attempt to touch the Track Kit unit while the vehicle
is in motion. The moving parts can injure hands and
feet. Always turn off the engine, remove the key and
set the parking brake before inspecting the tracks.
The first time you take the vehicle out with the tracks,
cover familiar ground at a slow speed in order to try out
turns in both directions. This will enable you to check if
the tracks have been installed correctly as well as to help
you become familiar with the different way the vehicle
handles with tracks.
Before using the vehicle equipped with tracks, check to
make sure that all the bolts are present, tightened and that
the tracks have an adequate tension and that nothing is
damaged. Take particular care to check the hub nuts, the
sprockets and the track adjusters.
Adjust or replace any parts as necessary.
