5 Using the Phone
Taking a call
When the phone rings, lift the receiver and take the call.
Ending a call
Replace the receiver to end the call.
Making a call
Lift the telephone receiver. Wait until you hear the dialling tone. Dial the required tele
phone number using the digit keys (11).
Redialling
Your telephone stores the last phone number dialled. To redial the last number dialled,
lift the receiver and wait until you hear the dialling tone. Press the [d/P] button (12).
The last number dialled is automatically redialled.
Muting function
Press and hold the [MUTE] button (2) during a call to switch the microphone off. Re
lease the [MUTE] button (2) to deactivate the muting function and continue the call.
Flash button for private branch exchanges
If the telephone is connected to a private branch exchange, functions such as transfer
ring calls and automatic call back can be used via the R button (13). Please refer to the
manual supplied with your private branch exchange. The sales outlet where you pur
chased the exchange can provide information as to whether the telephone will work
properly with the exchange.
Setting the ringing volume
You can change the volume of the ringing tone.
Move the ringing volume sliding switch (6) on the rear side of the base unit to "Lo" for a
quieter ring and to "Hi" for a louder ring.
Setting the receiver volume
You can change the receiver volume level.
Move the receiver volume sliding switch (4) on the side of the receiver to "Nor" for a
normal volume and to "Hi" for a higher volume.
