DESIGNER NOTES
It took us several years of development to get finally to a package that fulfils our own
roadbook. Its not only the allowance to use folding lines in the EN-C that made it possible to
certify it in that category – there is much more than this to make a good EN-C glider. We are
rather looking at the pilots demands and trying then to make the glider following these
demands. Fulfilling the norm is just the final act.
The VOLT4 is one of its first EN-C gliders with a 2-line construction – bringing in this 2-line
performance, stability and speed into the EN-C class.
Normally at AirDesign we don't speak much about performance as it's a kind of understanding
thing for us. But typically for 2-line gliders the Volt4 opens a new book in the EN-C category
when it comes to performance – this is a completely new world.
Handling and flying characteristics are like you would expect it from AirDesign – perfectly
balanced.
Nitinol wires throughout the whole glider are undestroyable and bending resistant – means,
you can pack it like you want to.
Years of development are coming together in this absolute new Volt4 glider.
Even though the glider is made in the most lightest way we focus also on durability. This
construction is about to last long and keeping its performance.
