3.1.4 Dosage
Conventional Bottle
1. To prevent the bottle from exposure to spatter or spray of body fluids or contaminated hands
it is mandatory that the bottle is handled offside the dental unit with clean/disinfected gloves.
During treatment clinicians with patient contact should not handle bottle.
2. Dispense Prime&Bond
the bottle does not come in direct contact with the applicator tip, or place one to two drops of
Prime&Bond
®
3. Replace cap promptly.
Technique Tip: Material in a closed CliXdish™ mixing well will remain usable for up to 15 minutes.
Material dispensed to a standard mixing well must be used immediately.
Unit Dose container for single patient use
1. Grasp container at each end, or insert into holder, placing thumb along center score.
2. Firmly apply pressure until container separates.
3. Holder may be placed on the tabletop or held between fingers for convenience.
4. Insert disposable applicator into opening to saturate applicator tip.
3.1.5 Application and curing
1. Using the applicator tip, apply the product wetting all cavity surfaces uniformly. Avoid pooling.
This surface should remain undisturbed for 20 seconds.
2. Evaporate solvent by thoroughly drying with clean, dry air from a dental syringe for at least 5
seconds. Use a vacuum aspirator to prevent spatter of the adhesive onto the mucosa. Surface
should have a uniform glossy appearance. If not, repeat application and air dry.
3. Cure Prime&Bond
Insufficient curing.
Inadequate polymerization.
1. Check compatibility of curing light.
2. Check curing cycle.
3. Check curing output.
4. Place restorative material over the cured Prime&Bond
manufacturer's Instructions for Use.
3.2 Light cured composite, ceramic and amalgam repairs
3.2.1 Preparation
1. Roughen and clean fractured restoration surface with a fine diamond bur and create mechani-
cal retention, if possible.
3.2.2 Tooth conditioning/dentin pre-treatment
1. Etch fractured tooth surface with the respective conditioner as outlined in 3.1.3 Tooth condition-
ing/dentin pre-treatment.
3.2.3 Treatment of restoration
1. Etch fractured restoration surface with the respective conditioner for at least 15 seconds as
outlined in 3.1.3 Tooth conditioning/dentin pre-treatment.
** Check curing light for minimum light output of at least 800 mW/cm
between 500 and 800 mW/cm
XP adhesive directly onto a clean applicator tip, making sure that

XP adhesive into a clean CliXdish™ mixing well or standard dappen dish.
