no air bubbles in the tubing. Consult
your pump user guide for proper filling
procedures.
6. Pull the red tape to remove the seal.
7. Pull off the sterile paper. Do not touch
the spring at this stage.
8. Hold the Mio 30 with one hand and pull
the lid off with the other.
CAUTION: Be careful not to bend or
touch the Mio 30 introducer needle. If
the infusion set is not securely placed
in the insertion device with the needle
pointing straight ahead, pain or minor
injury may occur during insertion.
9. Place your fingers on the finger grips on
each side. With your other hand, use
your finger to gently pull back the spring
until you hear a "click". The needle
guard will lift up or peel off. Do not touch
or bend the needle.
10. Immediately before insertion, carefully
remove the needle guard. Be sure
the tape is not stuck on the introducer
needle.
11. INSERTION: Place your index finger on
the top release button and your thumb
on the bottom release button. Position
Mio 30 with its legs resting flat on the
skin to ensure an insertion angle of 30°.

Make sure to maintain a 30° angle while
inserting and gently press the release
buttons once to insert Mio 30.
12. Make sure that the cannula stays in
place: Gently use two fingers to hold
down the tape while removing the
insertion device and introducer needle.
Gently pull the insertion device straight
back.
13. Secure the cannula by gently pressing
down with one finger on the clear
window of the tape. Carefully remove
the protective liner under the cannula
housing as shown.
14. Remove the protective liner under the
front end. Press the tape thoroughly
onto the skin.
15. Put the lid back onto the Mio 30 for
disposal.
16. Gently place a finger on the cannula
housing to hold it and insert the
site connector into the infusion set
using your other hand. Make sure
the connector locks with a "click". Fill
the empty space in the cannula with
0.7 units (0.007 ml) of U-100 insulin.
Disconnecting
Mio 30 allows you to temporarily disconnect
your pump without having to change the
infusion set.
A. Gently place a finger just in front of the
cannula housing and gently squeeze
the sides of the site connector to the
infusion set. Pull the connector straight
out.
B. Insert the protective cap onto the site
connector until you hear a "click".
C. Insert the disconnect cover into the
cannula housing until you hear a "click".
Reconnecting
D. Remove the disconnect cover from the
cannula housing.
E. Remove the protective cap from the
site connector. Fill the infusion set until
insulin dispenses from the needle.
CAUTION: When filling, hold Mio 30
with the needle pointing down.
F. Gently place a finger in front of the
cannula housing. Push the site
connector into the infusion set until you
hear a "click".
