USER INSTRUCTIONS
For Your Safety
1. Make sure all labels, packaging and protective films have been removed from the
grill.
2. Remove manufacturing oils before cooking on this grill for the first time, by
operating the grill for at least 15 minutes with the lid closed. This will "heat clean"
the internal parts and dissipate odors.
CAUTION: Instant light charcoal can burn at very high temperatures during initial startup. Make sure lid is open until charcoal turns
to hot coals.
This grill is designed for use only with quality charcoal briquettes, lump charcoal and cooking wood.
Warning! Keep children and pets away.
Caution! Do not use spirit, petrol or comparable fluids for lighting or re-lighting! Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3!
Attention! This barbecue will become very hot. Do not move it during operation.
Do not use indoors!
Lighting
1. Place grill on a hard, non-combustible level surface away from combustibles.
2. Open lid and vents.
3. Make sure ash receiver is empty and secure.
4. Remove cooking grid.
5. Arrange and light fuel per instructions on fuel package.
6. Allow fuel time to ash into glowing coals before cooking.
Cooking
Follow this advice when cooking on your grill.
ALWAYS wash your hands before or after handling uncooked meat and before eating.
Thoroughly defrost frozen meat and poultry in the refrigerator before cooking, Keep raw meat and poultry separate from cooked
foods.
ALWAYS keep raw meat away from cooked meat and other foods.
Before cooking ensure barbecue grill surfaces and tools are clean and free of old food residues.
DO NOT use the same utensils to handle cooked and uncooked foods.
Ensure all meat is cooked thoroughly before eating.
CAUTION-eating raw or under cooked meat can cause food poisoning (e.g. bacteria strains such as E. coli).
To reduce the risk of under cooked meat, check meat temperature with a cooking thermometer or cut open to ensure it is cooked
all the way through internally.
CAUTION-if meat has been cooked sufficiently the meat juices should be clear in color and there should be no traces of pink/red
juices or meat coloring.
Ensure that the grill is thoroughly cleaned before lighting the barbeque and cooking.
When cooking make sure the barbeque is really hot. Place the larger, thicker portions furthest away from the most intense heat to
ensure thorough cooking without burning, and turn regularly.
Direct Cooking
1. Open lid and remove cooking grid.
2. Load and light charcoal per charcoal manufacturer's instruction. Leave lid open.
3. While wearing protective gloves, carefully spread coals evenly across charcoal grid
with a long handle tool.
4. Carefully replace cooking grid, close Lid and allow to preheat .
5. Open lid and place food on cooking grid.
6. With lid open or closed, cook until desired internal food temperatures are achieved.
7. Allow charcoal to burn out by closing lid and all vents.
Indirect Cooking – Ideal for Roasts
1. Open lid and remove cooking grid.
2. Load and light charcoal per charcoal manufacturer's instruction. Leave lid open.
3. While wearing protective gloves, carefully spread coals to the outsides of charcoal
grid or to one side of charcoal grid with a long handle tool.
4. Place a metal tray on the charcoal grid that doesn't have charcoal to catch drippings
5. Carefully replace cooking grid.
6. Place food on cooking grid directly over the metal pan.
7. With lid open or closed, cook until desired internal food temperatures are achieved.
8. Allow charcoal to burn out by closing lid and all vents.
Tips for Better Cookouts and Longer Product Life
1. Store fuel in a waterproof container away from sources of ignition.
2. Use a charcoal chimney for fast and easy startups.
3. Spray or coat cooking surfaces with vegetable oil before cooking to avoid sticking.
4. Place vegetables or delicate foods into aluminum foil pouches.
5. Use a quality grill brush after each event to keep cooking surfaces clean and rust free.
6. Remove all ash and dispose of properly after each use.
7. Once grill is cool, cover with a quality grill cover that is properly sized to your unit.
CLEANING AND CARE
After cooking on your barbecue always clean the grill cooking surfaces and utensils.
Caution:
1. All cleaning and maintenance should be done when grill is cool.
2. DO NOT clean any grill part in a self-cleaning oven. The extreme heat will damage
the finish.
3. Abrasive cleaners will damage this product.
4. Never use oven cleaner to clean any part of grill.
Cleaning Surfaces
1. Wipe surfaces clean with mild dishwashing detergent or baking soda.
2. For stubborn surfaces use a citrus based degreaser and a nylon scrubbing brush.
3. Rinse clean with water.
IMPORTANT- Please note that it is normal, when in use, that the coated metal surfaces on the barbecue may discolor due to the
heat generated by the burning charcoal. The coating surfaces may appear to darken, turning a chalky or matt finish.
