9. To reset the timer during heating, simply press RUN/STOP (3) to deactivate heating.
10. Press RUN/STOP (3) again to start the heating, after setting the timer.
6. Temperature calibration
The Mini Dry Bath Incubator with optional blocks has been calibrated as a set. However, different block
types or water sources may have different infl uences and may cause different results. For optimum accurate
temperature control, or when swapping to different block types or water, the unit should be calibrated in
accordance with the procedure outlined below.
1. Insert a calibrated laboratory thermometer into the thermometer holding port located on the block or
into the middle of the chamber if being used as a water bath.
2. Press and hold the RUN/STOP (3) button while switching the Power Switch (8) ON.
The unit will omit a beep and the LED display will start flashing here.
This indicates the unit is in Calibration Mode.
3. Press the UP (1) or DOWN (2) to adjust the display value to the temperature you want to control
accurately, and then press the RUN/STOP (3) button.
4. As the unit reaches the target temperature the timer will start to count down.
Wait for approximately 30 mins, when you should hear a"beeping" sound.
5. Adjust the display value according to the value shown on the thermometer. Now press the
RUN/STOP (3) button and the screen will display
which indicates it is saving the calibrated value.
6. The calibration procedure is now finished. Wait for a few more minutes for the microprocessor to
automatically adjust the displayed temperature to the same temperature the thermometer measured.
7. Power recover function
1. If the unit is turned off during the heating stage and then turned back on again, an alarm will sound
and the display will countdown from 10 to 0, then it will recover back to the last state. The timer will
also resume to the last state.
2. Press the RUN/STOP (3) button during the countdown period to terminate the alarm and the timer.
The unit is then ready for operating again.
8. Troubleshooting
Many operating problems may be solved by following the instructions in this manual. Some suggestions
for troubleshooting are given below. Should these suggestions not resolve the problem, please contact
STARLAB or your STARLAB distributor for assistance, providing full information on the problem.
