1 Safety-related information
1.1 General instructions
Before using this product, carefully read these instructions for use and those of the associated products.

Strictly follow the instructions for use. The user must fully understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the product

only for the purposes specified in the intended use section of this document.
These instructions for use are only included with the receiver. However, they also apply to the operation of the transmitter.

Do not dispose of the instructions for use. Ensure that they are retained and appropriately used by the users.

Only trained and competent users are permitted to use this product.

Comply with all local and national rules and regulations associated with this product.

Only specialist, trained personnel are permitted to check, repair and maintain the product as described in these instructions

for use. Further maintenance work that is not detailed in these instructions for use must only be carried out by Dräger or
personnel qualified by Dräger. Dräger recommend a Dräger service contract for all maintenance activities.
Use only genuine Dräger spare parts and accessories or the functionality of the product may be impaired.

Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify the product.

Notify Dräger in the event of any component fault or failure.

Only those components (junction boxes, cable bushings, cable glands, push-in connectors) which meet the requirements of

the applicable standards and which have a separate test certificate are approved for installation and mounting. The operating
conditions in the component test certificates must be complied with.
Cable gland and communication connector must not be rotated out of the gas warning system housing.

1.2 Special conditions
The gas warning system enclosures shall be installed in such a way that the risk from electrostatic discharges and propagating

brush discharges caused by rapid flow of dust is avoided.
The gas warning system shall be installed in such a way that it is sufficiently protected from light and reflections (for example

daylight or light from luminaires). Dräger recommends using the protective cap included in delivery.
The gas warning system is flameproof. The housing must not be opened.

The flameproof joint must not be repaired.

